Job summary

OSK Construction is seeking an experienced excavator operator for landed housing projects at Bandar Puteri Jaya, Sungai Petani. The role involves operating excavator, performing daily inspections, and assisting with earthworks and site clearance.

You will work closely with supervisors and engineers, follow safety procedures, and be prepared for overtime or travel between project sites as required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience operating excavators in construction projects.
• Possess a valid excavator operator certificate or CIDB equivalent.
• Skilled in excavation, earthworks, trenching, site clearing, backfilling, and levelling works.
• Able to perform daily equipment inspections and basic preventive maintenance.
• Familiar with construction site safety requirements and safe operating procedures.
• Able to interpret site instructions and work with site supervisors and engineers.
• Physically fit and able to work outdoors in varying weather.
• Responsible, disciplined, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Willing to work overtime or travel between project sites when required.
• Possession of a valid driving licence is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate excavator safely for excavation, trenching, backfilling, grading, and material handling.
• Conduct daily pre-operational inspections and maintenance checks.
• Dig trenches, foundations, and drainage systems as required.
• Load/unload soil, rock, sand, and debris.
• Operate equipment with care and report defects promptly.
• Maintain safe working conditions and comply with safety regulations.
• Coordinate with supervisors, surveyors, and site personnel for accurate works.
• Keep equipment clean and well-maintained.
• Assist in housekeeping and safety activities as needed.
• Clear construction site by removing hazards and debris.

This role will be responsible for operating excavator and carry out the daily routine tasks (general or specific tasks) at project sites for landed housing development projects located in Bandar Puteri Jaya, Sungai Petani.

WHAT YOU WILL OWN :

• 1. Safely and efficiently operate excavator for excavation, trenching, backfilling, grading, and material handling.
• 2. Perform daily pre-operational inspections and maintenance checks on the excavator, ensuring it is in optimal working condition before operation.
• 3. Dig trenches, foundations, and drainage systems according to project requirements.
• 4. Load and unload materials such as soil, rock, sand, and debris.
• 5. Operate the excavator assigned by the company with utmost care, diligence and in a safe manner. Identify and report equipment defects or mechanical issues to the superior immediately.
• 6. Maintain safe working conditions and adhere to all relevant safety regulations, industry standards, environmental requirements and company policies, maintaining a strong focus on safety at all times.
• 7. Work closely with supervisors, surveyors, and site personnel to ensure accurate excavation works.
• 8. Maintain equipment cleanliness and proper operating condition.
• 9. Participate in housekeeping and safety activities as and when necessary or instructed.
• 10. Clean the construction site by removing hazards materials and debris from the worksite.
• 11. To carry out any other duties as and when instructed by the Management from time to time.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE :

• 2. At least 2 years of experience operating excavators in construction projects, preferably landed housing developments.
• 3. Possess a valid excavator operator certificate or competency certification (e.g. CIDB or equivalent).
• 4. Skilled in excavation, earthworks, trenching, site clearing, backfilling, and levelling works.
• 5. Able to perform daily equipment inspections and basic preventive maintenance.
• 6. Familiar with construction site safety requirements and safe operating procedures.
• 7. Able to interpret site instructions and work closely with site supervisors and engineers.
• 8. Physically fit and willing to work outdoors under varying weather conditions
• 9. Responsible, disciplined, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• 10. Willing to work overtime or travel between project sites when required.
• 11. Possession of a valid driving licence (GDL is an added advantage) is preferred.
