Ukay Banquet Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Events and Banquet Manager to lead the venue, covering sales, client management, event planning, manpower management, and execution. The role emphasizes achieving sales targets while delivering high-quality events.
You will oversee manpower, coordinate with clients, manage budgets, and ensure service standards. Evening and weekend work is required to match event schedules and client needs.
Responsible for the overall management of the event hall, including sales, client management, event planning, manpower management, and event execution. The position is responsible for achieving sales targets while ensuring all events are successfully and professionally conducted.
Handle enquiries from customers regarding weddings, banquets, corporate functions, and other events.
Follow up with potential customers and convert enquiries into confirmed bookings.
Conduct site visits and introduce the event hall, packages, facilities, and services to customers.
Prepare quotations, proposals, packages, and event arrangements.
Negotiate pricing and packages within the authority given by Management.
Maintain good relationships with existing and potential customers.
Actively source and develop new business opportunities.
Achieve monthly and yearly sales targets set by Management.
Monitor booking status, outstanding payments, and upcoming events.
Coordinate with customers from the initial booking until the completion of the event.
Understand and confirm customers' requirements, programme schedules, seating arrangements, menus, decorations, AV equipment, and other special requests.
Prepare event/function details and communicate requirements to the relevant operational teams.
Conduct pre-event briefings and ensure all arrangements are ready before the event.
Oversee the overall execution of events and functions.
Ensure the hall is properly set up and ready before each event.
Monitor the event flow and ensure smooth service throughout the function.
Handle last-minute changes, operational issues, and customer requests.
Ensure events are conducted according to company standards and agreed arrangements.
Plan manpower requirements according to the size and type of each event.
Supervise full-time and part-time banquet/service staff.
Assign duties and monitor staff performance during events.
Monitor attendance, punctuality, grooming, discipline, and service standards.
Train and guide staff to maintain proper service quality.
Maintain good communication with customers before, during, and after events.
Attend to customer requests and complaints professionally.
Ensure customers receive a satisfactory experience.
Conduct post-event follow-up and obtain customer feedback when required.
Monitor manpower, food/service requirements, equipment, and other operational resources.
Control operational costs and minimize wastage.
Ensure proper use and handling of company property and equipment.
Monitor event-related expenses and ensure they remain within approved budgets.
Maintain proper records of enquiries, quotations, bookings, deposits, and event details.
Prepare sales and event reports for Management.
Monitor monthly sales performance and booking targets.
Report operational issues, customer complaints, incidents, and other matters to Management.
Perform any other duties assigned by Management.
Diploma/Degree in Hospitality, Event Management, Business Management, or related field preferred.
Minimum 3 years' relevant experience in banquet, event, hotel, or F&B operations and sales.
Strong sales, negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Good leadership and event coordination skills.
Able to manage customers and staff independently.
Target-oriented and able to work under pressure.
Willing to work evenings, weekends, public holidays, and extended hours according to event schedules.
Working Hour: 10.30am-2.30pm, 5.30pm-10.30pm
