Job summary

Le Méridien Hotels & Resorts in Malaysia is seeking a Group Events Coordinator to manage pre-function briefings, introductions, and setup for banquets at IOI Resort City, Sepang. You will read banquet event orders, determine guest details, and coordinate setup to meet guest expectations.

You will ensure safety and professional standards, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and deliver exceptional service while working with a team to achieve common goals.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Related Work Experience: At least 1 year of related work experience.
• Supervisory Experience: No supervisory experience.
• License or Certification: None

Responsibilities

• Meet group coordinator/host(ess) prior to functions and ensure arrangements are agreeable.
• Read and analyze banquet event orders to gather guest information and determine setup, timeline and guest needs.
• Respond to and fulfill special banquet event arrangements and follow up to ensure compliance.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures and maintain professional appearance; protect company assets.
• Welcome guests, anticipate service needs, speak clearly and use proper etiquette; build positive team relationships.
