Job summary

The Only Bnb in Penang is looking for an experienced events professional to plan and manage the full lifecycle of live events, from After Dark shows to private functions and corporate activations. You will coordinate with artists, clients, agents and vendors to ensure flawless execution and superb guest experiences.

On event days you’ll lead load-ins, sound checks, rehearsals and show flow, oversee setup and seating, and troubleshoot issues in real time.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of experience in event management, live entertainment, or hospitality.
• Proven track record of delivering live events end-to-end.
• Knowledge of the Malaysia entertainment scene preferred.
• Familiarity with talent and production riders.
• Mandarin language skills to communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients preferred.

Job description

Plan and manage the full event lifecycle across all UMI events — including After Dark shows, private functions, corporate events, brand activations, and community programmes

Liaise with artists, performers, clients, agents, and vendors on contracts, technical riders, schedules, and hospitality

Coordinate with internal teams (F&B, operations, marketing, tech) to ensure seamless event delivery

Prepare and manage event timelines, run sheets, and production schedules

Serve as the primary point of contact on event days — managing load-in, sound checks, rehearsals, and show flow

Oversee venue setup, seating arrangements, signage, and guest experience touchpoints

Troubleshoot and resolve issues in real time during live events

Compile post-event reports including attendance figures, revenue summaries, audience feedback, and operational notes

Track and reconcile event budgets, P&L, and ticketing data (CloudJoi)

Work with the marketing team on event promotion timelines, content needs, and collateral

Job Requirements:

2–4 years of experience in event management, live entertainment, or hospitality

Proven track record of delivering live events end-to-end

Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends during events

Proficiency in Google Workspace / Microsoft Office

Knowledge of the Malaysia entertainment and events scene (preferred)

Familiarity with talent/technical riders and production requirements (preferred)

Mandarin language skills to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients (preferred)
