Job summary

CelcomDigi Berhad is seeking an experienced Event & Communications Manager to lead corporate events across our campuses and facilities. You will plan, coordinate, and monitor events, manage venue setup, AV, catering, registration, and on-site operations with an emphasis on quality and safety.

You will also oversee workplace communications channels, engage stakeholders, analyze data, and deliver actionable recommendations to improve the overall event programme and daily operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field.
• Minimum 3 years in event management or related roles.
• Experience in corporate events and VIP management.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement.

Job Description

Responsibilities

• Provide consultation, lead the planning process, and oversee the monitoring and control of all corporate events and functions held at CD Tower, CD Hub, and regional campuses.
• Manage all Workplace communication channels to facilitate event-related activities, updates, feedback, promotions, and communications, including but not limited to events and facilities operations.
• Engage regularly with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate space setup, equipment, scheduling, and resource requirements, ensuring alignment with approved budgets, timelines, and quality standards.
• Deliver value-added and seamless event experiences for organisers and attendees, ensuring adherence to established service quality standards.
• Prepare regular reports, conduct data analysis, and provide actionable recommendations to management on the overall workplace event programme and daily operations.
• Ensure all event operations, policies, and procedures are established, implemented, and compliant with relevant SOPs. Develop and update policies and SOPs as required.
• Monitor, resolve, elevate, follow up on, and close event-related issues and feedback received through all available communication channels in an effective and timely manner.
• Plan, supervise, and monitor the performance and deliverables of vendors, caterers, and suppliers throughout the pre-event, event, and post-event phases, ensuring compliance with agreed SLAs.
• Plan and coordinate maintenance works, procurement, and replenishment of event spaces, equipment, and related apparatus to ensure they remain adequately equipped and in good working condition throughout the year.
• Prepare and submit daily, weekly, monthly, and ad hoc reports to the Head of Section/Department in an accurate, consistent, and timely manner.
• Identify and implement opportunities to enhance event experiences through digital solutions, technology, automation, and innovative engagement approaches.
• Lead event readiness and on-site execution, ensuring venue setup, audiovisual equipment, food and beverage arrangements, registration, security, and other operational requirements are in place. Conduct site inspections, rehearsals, and event readiness reviews to ensure operational preparedness.
• Monitor event performance, stakeholder feedback, satisfaction levels, and operational data to identify improvement opportunities and drive service excellence, digitalisation, and innovation.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience in event management, workplace experience, hospitality, facilities management, project management or related fields.
• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Administration, Hospitality & Tourism Management, Business Management, Facilities/Property Management, Building Management, Construction, Project Management or other relevant disciplines.
• Proven experience in managing multiple events and programmes concurrently within a corporate environment, including events involving VIPs and senior management.
• Experience in hospitality management and/or the service industry is an advantage.
• Experience in workplace/internal communications or employee engagement would be an added advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with sound judgement, firm decision-making and the ability to take immediate and appropriate action when required.
• Results-oriented with the ability to perform effectively under pressure, particularly when managing tight deadlines, changing priorities and limited resources.
• Strong communication, presentation and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at different levels.
• Strong customer orientation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Good knowledge and experience in project and contract management, including vendor supervision, service delivery monitoring and SLA management.
• Strong planning, coordination and execution skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders, timelines and operational requirements simultaneously.
