Job summary

Honeywell Malaysia is seeking a dedicated Estimator II to join our Proposal & Estimation team in Kuala Lumpur. You will handle estimation activities for HVAC, Fire, Security, ELV & ICT packages, including RFI generation, BOQ costing, and technical submittals, ensuring alignment with Honeywell standards and regional requirements.

You will coordinate with supply chain, finance, and contracts/legal to deliver high-quality bids on time, manage multiple inquiries, and contribute to cost optimization

Qualifications

• Must have a BE in a related discipline.
• Experience in estimation, input study, and BOQ costing.
• Exposure to Building Management System (BMS), Fire, Security and ELV Systems.

Responsibilities

• Estimation: input study, RFIs, equipment take-off, BOQ costing, and BOM preparation.
• Proposals: study specs and prepare inclusion/exclusion lists and deviations.
• Technical submittals: system architecture, floor plans, control schematics, and compliance.
• Contribute to regional preferences on estimations and product knowledge.
• Quality checks and process standardization for cost optimization and cycle time reduction.

We are seeking a dedicated Estimator II to joinourteam inMalaysia. Responsible for robust estimation processes to deliver best in quality and cost competitive bids to make Sales successful and enable achievement of HBS regional sales targets.

Working within the Proposal & Estimation (P&E) team, as an Estimator you will work with multiple functions like supply chain, finance, contracts/legal, and you will be responsible of the delivery of the high-quality Technical Solutions & Bid Proposals on time, and in line with Honeywell standards of quality.

You will be responsible for managing multiple RFP enquiries (direct invitation to Honeywell via Sales and/or Business Development Teams) or bids open in response to open tenders. You will also be required to manage the bid process within the guidelines established by Honeywell bidding processes and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Estimation- Input study, generation of RFI’s, HVAC equipment take-off, preparation of IO summary, DDC controller sizing, field device selection, preparation of BOQ, costing, valve selection, cable schedule.
• Estimation of Fire, Security, ELV & ICT packages - Input study, generation of RFI’s, equipment take-off, device selection, Solution design, Controller and Server Sizing, preparation of BOQ costing, cable schedule.
• Proposals- Studying specifications and arrive at inclusion/ exclusion list, Technical qualifications/ assumptions/ deviations.
• Technical submittals- Preparation of system architecture, floor risers, control schematics, specification compliance etc. as per regional requirements.
• Contributing and tracking the regional technical preferences on estimations, awareness of the product ranges, ability to apply knowledge and understanding of Honeywell products to develop solutions that meet customer requirements.
• Performing quality checks for the jobs.
• Contribute towards establishing & standardization of new processes for cost optimization & cycle time reduction.
• Sound Knowledge of business processes and systems.
• Provide competitive insight from past opportunities and apply "lessons learned" to the assigned opportunities to generate effective counter strategies.

Must Have:

• Bachelor Engineering (BE) in related discipline preferably Instrumentation & Control, Electronics & Electrical Engineering etc.
• Work experience in relevant field – Min 5-10 years.
• Exposure to Building Management System (BMS), Fire, Security and ELV Systems
• Pre-sales process knowledge.
• Ability to manage jobs and/ or projects to standards, budgets.
• Value engineered approach in all the deliverables.
• MS office (Excel & word) competency.
• Good communication, both verbal and written (English).
• Ability to prioritize jobs as per the timelines
• Ability to interact and build relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
• Ability to carry out risk assessments
• Self-motivator
• Ability to multi-task.
