Job summary

QI Group in Malaysia seeks a data specialist to manage material master data within the ERP system, ensuring accuracy across procurement, supply chain, and finance. The role involves cleaning records, updating descriptions, units, and supplier information, and generating reports to identify data issues.

The ideal candidate has a Diploma or degree in a related field, 2–3 years in inventory or purchasing, and strong Excel skills, with familiarity in SAP or ERP systems beneficial.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in a related field.
• Around 2–3 years of experience in inventory, purchasing, materials planning, or similar areas.
• Some hands-on experience with SAP or other ERP systems would be a strong advantage.
• Strong attention to detail and a careful approach to handling data.
• Comfortable working with Excel and other Microsoft Office tools.
• Able to communicate clearly and work well with different teams.

Responsibilities

• Keep material master data accurate and up to date in the system.
• Clean up duplicate, outdated, or incomplete records.
• Combine overlapping entries while retaining important historical information.
• Fill in missing details such as product descriptions, units, and supplier info.
• Run and review reports to spot inconsistencies or data issues.
• Fix errors in product codes, naming, and other key fields.
• Review vendor records and flag inactive suppliers.
• Track and follow up on pending or incomplete purchase orders.
• Support setup of materials across different locations.
• Assist with batch management and data categorisation.
