Job summary

Abbott Penang (Formerly Known as St. Jude Medical) is seeking a maintenance professional to troubleshoot and sustain production equipment, including packaging machines, laser welders, and vision systems. The role focuses on minimizing downtime, performing PMs, and ensuring calibration readiness across lines.

You will coordinate with production, engineering, and quality teams, maintaining logs and supporting validation activities while upholding 100% audit compliance and zero NCs.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Electrical & Electronic / Mechatronic / Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in equipment maintenance or manufacturing support environment.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Basic understanding of PLC, electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and maintenance procedures.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance and equipment calibration.
• Able to work independently and support production during machine downtime.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and maintain production equipment including auto packaging machines, laser welders, pneumatic crimpers, vision systems, and PC-based integrated systems.
• Track downtime, analyze equipment performance, and implement improvements to increase machine uptime.
• Perform and manage preventive maintenance (PM), work orders, and equipment maintenance records.
• Manage calibration schedules and spare parts inventory to ensure equipment readiness.
• Support engineering activities including equipment validation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain accurate logbooks and maintenance documentation to ensure audit readiness.
• Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory requirements, achieving 100% audit compliance and zero non-conformances (NCs).
• Liaise with production, engineering, quality teams, and external vendors on equipment-related matters.
