Job summary

TE Connectivity Corporation in Malaysia is seeking an Equipment Maintenance Engineering Manager to lead the maintenance function and drive TPM and reliability improvements across manufacturing sites in Prai, Penang.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering and 10–15 years in maintenance management with hands-on automation experience. You will develop strategies, manage budgets, mentor engineers, and ensure safety compliance.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical or Mechatronics) required.
10–15 years in maintenance management.
2–3 years of people management experience.
Solid understanding of semiconductor equipment and testing.
Experience with automation manufacturing.
Ability to read PLCs and electrical diagrams.
Strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute maintenance programmes to reduce failures and costs.
Lead and develop maintenance team including engineers, supervisors, technicians and contractors.
Develop skill matrices and training, organize emergency response and strengthen autonomous maintenance.
Lead root cause analysis and implement improvement strategies.
Collaborate with external contractors and vendors for maintenance work.
Develop data-driven maintenance plans and optimise spare parts inventory.
Monitor MTBF, MTTR, and OEE.
Ensure safety compliance, permit-to-work and lockout/tagout procedures.
Prepare and manage CAPEX and maintenance budgets.
