Job summary

FLEXTRONICS TECHNOLOGY (DL – PENANG) SDN BHD in Penang, Malaysia is seeking a maintenance technician to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain manufacturing equipment. You will perform planned maintenance, calibrations, and assist engineers with installation and removal of process equipment to ensure high equipment uptime.

The role requires detailed documentation of times and problems in logs, plus the ability to travel to other Flex sites or vendor locations as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience diagnosing and isolating machine malfunctions.
• Ability to perform cost-efficient repairs.
• Experience performing preventive maintenance and calibrations.
• Strong documentation and log-keeping skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify machine malfunctions through troubleshooting and isolate failure mechanisms.
• Repair the failure mechanism in the most cost-effective manner.
• Perform preventive maintenance at specified intervals and schedules.
• Perform calibrations and re-qualifications on equipment at specified intervals and schedules.
• Assist process technicians and engineers with installation and removal of process equipment.
• Record times and problems in equipment logs.
• Provide daily equipment functioning activity information.
• Disassemble instruments and equipment and inspect components for defects.
• Align, repair, replace and balance component parts and circuitry.
• Assist engineers in formulating test, calibration, repair and evaluation plans and procedures to maintain precision accuracy of measuring, recording and indicating instruments and equipment.
• May require travel to other Flex sites or equipment vendors’ locations.
• Highest level may perform both software and hardware maintenance.
