Job summary

Shearwater Asia is seeking an experienced EPM Functional Consultant to join our Kuala Lumpur team, delivering planning and consolidation solutions using Jedox or Workday Adaptive Planning. You will work with clients on requirements, design workshops, and hands-on configuration under a PM.

You will build end-to-end EPM models, manage data integrations, and run user training while maintaining data integrity and project delivery. Strong FP&A domain expertise and platform experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, IT, or equivalent professional qualification (CPA/ACCA/CIMA).
• Minimum 3 years implementing EPM/CPM solutions with genuine FP&A and/or Financial Consolidation expertise.
• Hands-on configuration experience in Jedox or Workday Adaptive Planning, building OLAP cubes or Planning Sheets.
• Strong Excel-based financial and multidimensional modeling skills.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication; able to lead client workshops on-site or remote.

Responsibilities

• Partner with clients to analyze planning or consolidation processes and design automated models in Jedox or Workday Adaptive Planning.
• Lead design workshops and configuration decisions with clients, applying platform best practices.
• Build, configure, and troubleshoot EPM models end to end, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
• Set up and maintain data integrations between EPM platform and source systems (ERP, data warehouse, HCM, BI).
• Support clients through full project lifecycle from discovery to go-live and training.
• Develop training materials and run end-user workshops to drive adoption after go-live.
• Provide regular status updates to clients and Project Managers, working independently.
• Maintain up-to-date platform knowledge and share learnings with Delivery team.
• Contribute to proposals and demonstrations under PM/Engagement Manager guidance.

As a premier partner for Oracle NetSuite, Workday Adaptive Planning, and Jedox, we are accelerating our EPM business line across Southeast Asia. We are currently seeking a motivated EPM Functional Consultant to join our expanding team in Kuala Lumpur, delivering planning and consolidation solutions that transform how our clients run their finance function.

About the Role

This role owns end-to-end implementation of EPM solutions on Jedox or Workday Adaptive Planning, one platform as your primary depth, with structured cross-training into the second as you grow into it. You will balance client-facing advisory (requirements gathering, design workshops, training) with hands-on system configuration, working under the guidance of a Project Manager.

Platform certification and product training are provided on the job. What cannot be trained is genuine FP&A or Financial Consolidation domain expertise and a real track record of configuring an EPM system, not just using one as an end user. Candidates without that foundation will not be considered for this role, regardless of platform exposure.

• Lead design workshops and configuration decisions with clients, applying platform best practice to their specific business needs.
• Build, configure, and troubleshoot EPM models end to end, ensuring data accuracy and system integrity.
• Set up and maintain data integrations between the EPM platform and source systems (ERP, data warehouse, HCM, BI), including ETL/data-load configuration.
• Support clients through the full project lifecycle, from discovery and design through testing, training, and go-live.
• Develop training materials and run end-user workshops to drive adoption after go-live.
• Provide regular status updates to clients and Project Managers, working independently under limited day-to-day direction.
• Maintain up-to-date platform knowledge and share learnings with the wider Delivery team.
• Contribute to proposals and solution demonstrations when needed, under the guidance of the Project Manager or Engagement Manager.

Qualifications — Must Have

• Bachelor's degree (BA/BSc) in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Information Technology, or a related field, or an equivalent professional qualification (CPA, ACCA, CIMA).
• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on experience implementing EPM/CPM solutions ( Jedox , Workday Adaptive Planning , Anaplan, Oracle EPM, IBM TM1, SAP SAC, CCH Tagetik, Board, OneStream, or similar), with genuine FP&A and/or Financial Consolidation domain expertise , not just report‑building experience.
• Real, hands‑on configuration experience in at least one of Jedox or Workday Adaptive Planning specifically — for example, building OLAP cubes and multi‑dimensions in Jedox Modeller and writing rules and Integrator ETL jobs, or building Planning Sheets, Levels, and Versions and configuring OfficeConnect in Workday Adaptive Planning. This will be verified during the interview process.
• Strong Excel-based financial and multidimensional modeling skills.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication; comfortable leading client workshops independently, on‑site or remote.

Qualifications — Highly Preferred

• Working knowledge of the two platforms (Jedox or Workday Adaptive Planning), or hands‑on experience with a related EPM/CPM tool (Anaplan, Oracle EPM, IBM TM1, SAP SAC, CCH Tagetik, Board, OneStream).
• Experience with SQL, ETL tooling, or system/API integration work.
• Understanding of process automation and enhancement using AI tools such as Gemini, Claude, and ChatGPT would be an added advantage.
• Prior consulting background — Big 4, GSI (e.g. Accenture), or a specialized EPM/CPM implementation partner.
• Proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia, Mandarin, or Cantonese, to support regional clients.
• Exposure to Scrum/agile delivery or project management fundamentals. Full PMP or Scrum Master certification is not required at this level.
