WZR PROPERTY SDN BHD is seeking an Environmental Officer to support a highway construction project in Malaysia. You will monitor environmental compliance, implement EMPs, conduct site inspections, and prepare environmental reports.

Ideal candidates hold a diploma or degree in environmental fields, have 2–5 years' relevant experience, and are willing to be stationed at the project site. Strong communication and documentation skills are required to ensure regulatory adherence.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Management, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of working experience in environmental management, particularly in construction, highway, road, or infrastructure projects.
• Basic knowledge of Malaysian environmental legislation and DOE requirements.
• Familiarity with environmental monitoring, site inspections, waste management, and erosion and sediment control.
• Good communication, reporting, documentation, and coordination skills.
• Able to work independently and as part of a project team.
• Willing to be stationed at the project site.

Responsabilités

• Monitor and ensure compliance with applicable environmental laws, regulations, and project environmental requirements.
• Implement and monitor the Environmental Management Plan (EMP) at the highway construction site.
• Conduct regular environmental inspections and monitoring of construction activities.
• Monitor and control environmental impacts, including soil erosion, sedimentation, water pollution, dust emissions, and noise pollution.
• Ensure proper implementation of erosion and sediment control measures at the construction site.
• Monitor proper waste management, including the handling, storage, and disposal of scheduled wastes, where applicable.
• Prepare and maintain environmental reports, inspection checklists, monitoring records, and other relevant documentation.
• Identify environmental risks and non-compliance and recommend appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
• Coordinate with the Project Manager, Site Engineers, Safety and Health personnel, subcontractors, and consultants on environmental matters.
• Conduct environmental awareness briefings for site personnel and subcontractors.
• Assist in environmental audits, inspections, and investigations of environmental incidents.
• Ensure environmental mitigation measures are implemented in accordance with project requirements and applicable approvals.

The successful candidate will assist in monitoring and managing environmental matters at the project site to ensure compliance with applicable environmental regulations and project requirements.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Management, or a related field.

Preferably 2–5 years of working experience in environmental management, particularly in construction, highway, road, or infrastructure projects.

Basic knowledge of Malaysian environmental legislation and Department of Environment (DOE) requirements.

Familiarity with environmental monitoring, site inspections, waste management, and erosion and sediment control.

Good communication, reporting, documentation, and coordination skills.

Able to work independently and as part of a project team.

Willing to be stationed at the project site.
