Job summary

Perunding D Lite Sdn Bhd is seeking an Environmental Engineer to support the implementation and continuous improvement of the EMS across its oil and gas operations. The role involves providing environmental support for operations, maintenance, projects, and shutdowns in Sarawak with travel to East and West Malaysia.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in Environmental Engineering (or related field) with at least 5 years of environmental management experience, strong knowledge of EMS/ISO

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of environmental management experience in oil and gas or related process industry.
• Good understanding of environmental regulations, EMS, and ISO 14001.
• Experience with permitting, waste management, emissions monitoring, and reporting.
• Familiarity with environmental legislation and standards.
• Strong analytical and technical reporting skills.
• Able to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams.
• Willing to travel within East and West Malaysia.

Responsibilities

• Support EMS implementation and continuous improvement.
• Provide environmental support for operations, maintenance, projects and shutdown activities.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, permits and company requirements.
• Participate in environmental risk assessments and incident investigations.
• Support Management of Change (MOC) and review environmental aspects of engineering and operational activities.
• Prepare environmental reports and maintain relevant records.
• Work closely with operations, engineering, maintenance, HSE and project teams to promote environmental compliance and continuous improvement.
• Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the implementation and continuous improvement of the Company's Environmental Management System (EMS).
• Provide environmental support for operations, maintenance, projects and shutdown activities.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, permits and company requirements.
• Participate in environmental risk assessments and incident investigations.
• Support Management of Change (MOC) and review environmental aspects of engineering and operational activities.
• Prepare environmental reports and maintain relevant records.
• Work closely with operations, engineering, maintenance, HSE and project teams to promote environmental compliance and continuous improvement.

Qualifications, Experience and Competencies

• Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science or another relevant engineering discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of environmental management experience within the oil and gas or related process industry.
• Good understanding of environmental regulations, environmental management systems and sustainable operations.
• Experience in environmental compliance, permitting, waste management, emissions monitoring and environmental reporting.
• Familiarity with ISO 14001 Environmental Management System.
• Knowledge of applicable environmental legislation and industry standards.
• Strong analytical, communication and technical report-writing skills.
• Able to work independently and effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Candidates must be able to demonstrate their responsibilities and achievements in previous environmental management roles.
• Primary work location will be Sarawak, with the ability to travel for job-related assignments within East and West Malaysia.
