Job summary

Quectel Wireless Solutions Penang Sdn. Bhd. develops and maintains embedded Linux software for wireless connectivity products. The role involves porting Linux on new hardware, bringing up BSPs, device trees and drivers, and debugging kernel drivers and low-level interfaces.

You will integrate LTE/5G NR and Wi‑Fi features, conduct reviews, run unit tests and manage software releases, while analyzing logs and resolving design issues. Strong English and Mandarin communication are required.

Qualifications

• Fresh graduates welcome or 1+ years of embedded Linux software development experience.
• Excellent knowledge of hardware interfaces I2C, SPI and UART.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and debug hardware with an oscilloscope.
• Excellent knowledge of GIT.
• Proficient in C or C++ programming with extensive development experience.
• In-depth knowledge of Linux OS architecture and kernel mechanisms.
• Proactive work ethic and strong technical learning agility.
• Excellent verbal communication skills and collaborative team spirit.
• Fluency in English and Mandarin; additional languages are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain embedded Linux software for wireless connectivity products.
• Port and bring up Linux on new hardware platforms (BSP, device tree, drivers).
• Develop and debug Linux kernel drivers and low-level interfaces.
• Integrate LTE/5G NR and Wi-Fi features.
• Perform requirement, design and code reviews; run unit tests and software releases.
• Analyze failure logs, clarify system problems and resolve design issues.
• Write test specifications and technical documentation.
