Job summary

Quectel Wireless Solutions Penang Sdn. Bhd. is seeking an experienced embedded Linux engineer to design and implement software architecture for Yocto/Ubuntu-based systems.

You will customize rootfs, develop SDKs, and handle OTA upgrades while optimizing power use and debugging complex issues. The role requires 3+ years in embedded Linux, strong C/C++, familiarity with Yocto/Buildroot, and good English communication skills.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience in embedded Linux system development.
• Proficient in C and familiar with C++.
• Familiar with Yocto or Buildroot build systems and cross-compilation toolchains.
• Experience in Linux application development and IPC.
• Strong debugging with GDB.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement software architecture for embedded Linux systems (Yocto or Ubuntu based).
• Customize, tailor and optimize the root filesystem (rootfs).
• Develop and package communication and multimedia SDKs.
• Handle system-level tasks such as OTA upgrade, system crash/hang analysis, power consumption optimization, AT commands and production line tool development.
• Provide technical support to customers and resolve platform-side and customer-side issues.
