Qualifications

• A recognised Bachelor's degree in English, English Literature, or a related subject
• A teaching qualification or certification (PGCE, TEFL, or equivalent) and demonstrated experience teaching English
• Strong knowledge of English language, grammar, literature and composition
• Proven ability to engage and inspire primary and secondary-level students in the classroom
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Experience with exam preparation for international qualifications (IGCSE, Cambridge Primary Checkpoint, or similar) is highly desirable
• Familiarity with contemporary teaching methodologies and educational technology
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple classes and responsibilities
• A commitment to student pastoral care and holistic development
• The ability to work collaboratively within a team and contribute positively to school culture

Responsibilities

• Planning, preparing and delivering engaging English lessons to primary and secondary students across various year groups
• Developing and implementing curriculum-aligned lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities
• Assessing student progress through a range of formative and summative assessment methods
• Providing constructive feedback and support to help students improve their writing, speaking, reading and listening skills
• Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation and academic growth
• Preparing students for internal examinations and international qualifications as required
• Collaborating with colleagues to develop cross-curricular projects and whole-school initiatives
• Maintaining detailed records of student attendance, progress and behaviour
• Communicating regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and wellbeing
• Participating in departmental meetings and contributing to the continuous improvement of English provision
