Plan and deliver daily, age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with the school's approved curriculum for English language, Mathematics, and Science
Bridge connections between subjects- utilizing strong English literacy skills to help students comprehend word problems in Math and scientific vocabulary in Science
Adapt teaching strategies, pacing, and materials to accommodate diverse learning styles and developmental stages of children aged 6 to 8 years old
Regularly assess student performance through formative assessments, quizzes, class participation, and homework
Provide constructive, encouraging feedback to students to build confidence in reading, writing, calculating, and inquiring
Maintain accurate logs of student progress, attendance, and behavioral milestones
Cultivate a positive, orderly, and emotionally secure classroom culture where young learners feel safe to explore and make mistakes
Establish clear classroom rules and transitions tailored for early primary attention spans
Update parents regularly on their child's academic and social progress, and participate actively in scheduled parent-teacher conferences
Work alongside grade-level teams and subject specialists to align cross-curricular themes and school events
Bachelor's Degree in Education, Early Childhood Education, English, or a related field (or equivalent teaching certification)
Minimum 1-2 years of formal classroom teaching or primary tutoring experience, ideally with Grades 1 and 2 learners
Exceptional command of spoken and written English
Solid working knowledge of foundational numeracy, early literacy methodologies, and basic elementary science concepts
High patience, creativity, and energy required for managing lower-primary children
