Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field (or equivalent teaching certification).
• Minimum 1–2 years of formal classroom teaching or primary tutoring experience, ideally with Grades 1 and 2.
• Exceptional command of spoken and written English.
• Solid working knowledge of foundational numeracy, early literacy methodologies, and basic elementary science concepts.
• High patience, creativity, and energy for managing lower-primary children.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver daily, age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with the school's approved curriculum for English, Mathematics, and Science.
• Bridge connections between subjects using strong English literacy to help with word problems and science vocabulary.
• Adapt teaching strategies, pacing, and materials to diverse learning styles of 6–8 year olds.
• Regularly assess student performance through formative assessments, quizzes, class participation, and homework.
• Provide constructive feedback to build confidence in reading, writing, calculating, and inquiry.
• Maintain logs of student progress, attendance, and behavioral milestones.
• Cultivate a positive, orderly, emotionally secure classroom culture where learners feel safe to explore and make mistakes.
• Establish clear classroom rules and transitions for early primary attention spans.
• Update parents on academic and social progress; participate in parent-teacher conferences.
• Collaborate with grade-level teams and subject specialists to align cross-curricular themes and school events.
