Job summary

Swiss Re's Asia Engineering team in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a motivated engineer with underwriting acumen to support infrastructure reinsurance in Malaysia and SEA. The role covers underwriting support for treaty and facultative business and requires close collaboration with regional partners to drive profitable growth.

You will report to a team leader in KL and participate in technical reviews, risk assessment, data quality, and post-underwriting activities.

Qualifications

• University degree in an Engineering Discipline with 3+ years in infrastructure projects or loss adjusting.
• Underwriting experience in primary insurance or reinsurance is an advantage.
• Willingness to travel occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and assess infrastructure insurance risks and costs.
• Support underwriting origination and build relationships in assigned markets.
• Coordinate post-underwriting activities and data quality in IT systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement market strategies.
• Provide technical training for clients and internal teams.
• Support Digital strategy and new product development initiatives.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders across units.
