Job summary

BD is seeking an Engineering Program Manager in Kulim, Malaysia to lead a multidisciplinary engineering organization responsible for project execution, sustaining engineering, and manufacturing automation initiatives.

You will drive operational excellence, capacity expansion, and strategic manufacturing investments while partnering with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Regulatory Affairs, EHS, and global teams to support business growth and improve customer outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, Mechatronics, Industrial, Chemical, or related discipline).
• Master's Degree or MBA is an advantage.
• Minimum 10 years of engineering and manufacturing experience in a high‑volume environment.
• Minimum 5 years of people leadership experience managing engineering teams.
• Proven experience leading cross‑functional engineering projects and capital investment programs.
• Strong background in manufacturing operations, process engineering, and operational excellence initiatives.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, TPM, or Operational Excellence.
• Preferred: experience in regulated environments (medical device, pharma).

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a portfolio of engineering programs and projects.
• Ensure capital investment project execution from concept to handover.
• Establish project governance, timelines, resource planning, budgets, risk management, and stakeholder communications.
• Drive accountability for project deliverables and milestones.
• Lead Sustaining Engineering to support manufacturing operations and product performance.
• Prioritize continuous improvement for quality, productivity, and cost.
• Oversee Automation Engineering and Industry 4.0 initiatives.
• Collaborate with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, R&D, Procurement, and Finance.
• Develop a high-performing engineering organization through coaching and talent development.
