Job summary

Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur is seeking an Assistant Director of Engineering to support the efficient operation of the Engineering Department in line with Hyatt’s standards and guest expectations.

You will assist in overseeing day-to-day engineering operations, ensuring facilities, equipment, buildings, and grounds are maintained to high safety and presentation standards, while collaborating across departments and leading a hands-on engineering team.

Qualifications

• Malaysian citizen or permanent resident due to work permit restrictions.
• University degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Management, or related technical discipline.
• Experience as Assistant Director of Engineering or Engineering Manager, preferably in an international luxury hotel.
• Strong knowledge of hotel engineering operations, preventive maintenance, building systems, and equipment management.
• Proven problem-solving and decision-making skills with ability to respond to operational/technical challenges.
• Good administrative, organizational, planning skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate across departments and lead an engineering team.
• Proactive hands-on approach with strong commitment to safety, efficiency, and high operational standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day engineering operations of the hotel.
• Support other departments by ensuring engineering services are delivered efficiently and cost-effectively.
• Contribute to preventive maintenance, energy conservation, and regulatory compliance.
• Maintain the hotel facilities to high safety and presentation standards.
• Lead and develop the engineering team with a proactive, hands-on approach.
