Engineering Change Analyst (Fresh graduates)

Engineering Change (EC) Analyst manages the end-to-end governance, coordination, execution, and documentation of Engineering Change Orders (ECO) and Manufacturing Change Orders (MCO) for Brooks Automation Malaysia. This role ensures accurate impact assessment, timely implementation, cross-functional readiness, and strict compliance with engineering, quality, manufacturing, and supply chain requirements. The position also drives continuous improvement in change management processes, reporting, and operational discipline.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Monitor ECO/MCO lifecycle from initiation, review, approval routing, and release. Owns and manage operations execution of released ECO/MCO relevant to Malaysia site.

Perform structured impact analysis across engineering, production, supply chain, quality, inventory, systems integration, and cost.

Challenge and validate ECO/MCO to minimize impacts on cost, quality, schedule, operational disruption, and ensure readiness prior to implementation. If required, may push back or negotiate the disposition, the cut-in schedule, depletion of existing inventory, etc.

Verify completeness and correctness of change documentation prior to release (BOM rollup checks, attachments, disposition accuracy, effectivity dates, etc.), and feedback/escalate as needed.

Track performance against EC KPIs; proactively elevate when targets or timelines are at risk.

2. Cross-Functional Governance & Coordination

Lead, facilitate, and document Engineering Change Review Board (ECRB) activities, ensuring clear visibility of pending and active changes.

Coordinate with engineering, quality, production, and supply chain to ensure execution readiness, material disposition, and process compliance.

Timely follow-up with respective functional owner, risk escalation, and ECO/MCO status reporting to site leadership and program teams to drive progressive actions.

Support providing latest revision control of BOM, drawing, part specification, and configuration data in PLM / MRP systems (Agile, Oracle) to key stakeholders when required.

3.Operational Execution & Site Approval

Serve as the Malaysia site’s Operational Execution Approver for ECO/MCO implementation.

Ensure proper execution of disposition instructions (use-as-is, rework, scrap, purge, etc.) and monitor adherence to cut-in plans.

Support New Product Transfer (NPT) and New Product Introduction (NPI) by ensuring existing running or newly released ECO/MCO is updated in the PLM & MRP systems, for accurate implementation of new product.

4. Training, Standards & User Support

Train and guide engineers, production staff, and supply chain users on change management processes, standards, documentation requirements, and system usage.

Act as subject matter expert for PLM / MRP change-related workflow.

Identify and implement improvement initiatives to enhance EC workflow efficiency, approval routing, cross-functional collaboration, and EC cycle time; quantify benefits to support business objectives.

Contribute to projects that improves EC operations execution efficiency, EC control / exposure risks, and process discipline.

Support digitalization initiatives (automation, dashboards, workflow ehancements) related to change management.

6.Compliance, Policy Obligations & Governance

Comply with all company policies, code of conduct, ethical standards, and applicable laws and regulations.

Adhere to QMS, EHS, data/IP protection, workplace protocols, and all relevant corporate, regulatory, or customer requirements.

Support internal and external audits by providing accurate documentation and evidence. Timely closure of audit findings and observations

7.Others

Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of this role or with potential expansion in scope based on business needs.

Education / Skills / Abilities / Work Experience Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Manufacturing Technology is preferred. Candidates with degrees in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, or other related disciplines with demonstrated analytical and technical aptitude are also encouraged to apply.

Internship experience, university projects, or academic exposure related to manufacturing operations, engineering processes, product data management, documentation control, or project coordination will be an added advantage.

Technical / Functional

Basic understanding of product lifecycle management (PLM), engineering change processes, and manufacturing operations.

Ability to read and interpret engineering documentation, technical drawings/CAD drawings, Bills of Materials (BOM), and product specifications.

Understanding document control, revision control, and configuration management concepts is an advantage.

Knowledge of semiconductor, capital equipment, or other high-technology manufacturing environments is an advantage.

Systems / Tools

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Proficiency in data analysis and reporting using Excel; exposure to Power BI, Tableau, Smartsheet, or similar tools is an added advantage.

Familiarity with ERP, MRP, PLM, or database systems through academic projects or internships is an advantage.

Ability to learn and adapt quickly to new systems, tools, and business processes.
