Job summary

Toyota Malaysia is seeking a diligent Quality Engineer to lead investigations into market quality issues and drive countermeasures with Manufacturing divisions and vendors. You will screen reports, identify problem phenomena and market impact, manage investigation plans, coordinate with divisions, and verify countermeasure effectiveness to minimize customer disruption.

This role requires a Bachelor’s in Engineering (Automotive preferred), at least 3 years’ related experience, strong English, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably related to Automotive.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in related fields.
• Good spoken and written English – experienced communicating with non-native English speakers.
• Knowledge of the Seven Basic Tools of Quality.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

• Able to work independently with minimum supervision

Reduce customer inconvenience by providing reliable & effective countermeasure in a timely manner

Operational

1. Screen Technical Reports & Warranty data and identify:

a. Problem phenomenon

b. Market Impact

c. Manufacturing / Design change history

e. Decide the necessity of further investigation based on item 1.a. ~ 1.d.

2. Lead investigation activity by:

a. Fix the investigation plan and issue an official request to the related division

b. Conduct pre-check or duplication test for failed parts & systems

c. Manage failed parts shipment and related info to the related divisions

d. Follow-up investigation progress and report to management

e. Decide the necessity of countermeasure based on item 2.a. ~ 2d.

3. Promote Countermeasure by:

a. Issue countermeasure request to the responsible division

b.Audit countermeasure implementation activities

c. Verify the effectiveness of countermeasures both on actual vehicles & by monitoring market trends

d. Provide countermeasure parts, methods, and information to the Technical Service Division.

4. Ensure all technical reports are screened and the investigation plan established.

5. Ensure the investigation is done promptly and according to the QA requirements.

6. Ensure countermeasure implementation & effectiveness.

7. Minimize customer inconvenience and disruption to sales, service & production.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably related to Automotive.

Minimum 3 years of experience in related fields.

Good spoken and written English – experienced communicating with non-native English speakers.

Knowledge of the Seven Basic Tools of Quality.
