Job summary

Munivac Sdn Bhd in Malaysia is seeking a Project Engineer in moulding to plan, execute, and support engineering projects. You will drive process development, coordinate tooling, setup and pilot runs, and manage from design through mass production, while collaborating with Production, Quality, Maintenance and Engineering to meet quality, cost and schedule targets.

Expect to lead continuous improvement initiatives, evaluate customer feedback, maintain the BOM, prepare ECNs and testing quotations,

Qualifications

• Diploma or equivalent required; minimum 2 years in project engineering or moulding.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills; capable of working under pressure.
• Willingness to travel for customer meetings as needed.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary coordinator between customers and internal departments to ensure effective communication and project execution.
• Responsible for the creation, maintenance, and updating of the system BOM.
• Consolidate and evaluate customer feedback related to product requirements and tooling concerns, coordinating actions.
• Manage and monitor NPI project schedules to achieve milestones on time.
• Prepare ECNs to support product and process changes.
• Provide technical support and engineering solutions throughout the project lifecycle.
• Prepare testing quotations and follow up on PO approvals for timely delivery of services.
• Coordinate with Production, Quality, Tooling, and Maintenance for smooth launches.
• Track progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives including process optimization and cost reduction.

Job description

Responsible for planning, executing, and supporting engineering projects related to moulding operations. This role involves the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of moulding processes to ensure optimal performance, product quality, and operational efficiency. The engineer coordinates tooling, equipment setup, and project activities, ensuring successful execution from product design and development through pilot runs and mass production. Working closely with cross-functional teams, including Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Engineering, the role ensures project objectives are achieved within established quality, cost, and timeline requirements. Additionally, the engineer identifies and implements process optimization initiatives, cost reduction opportunities, and productivity improvements while maintaining product integrity, compliance, and customer requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary coordinator between customers and internal departments to ensure effective communication and project execution.
• Responsible for the creation, maintenance, and updating of the system Bill of Materials (BOM).
• Consolidate and evaluate customer feedback related to product requirements, testing issues, tooling concerns, and measurement discrepancies, and coordinate appropriate actions with customers and the team.
• Manage and monitor NPI project schedules to ensure milestones and deliverables are achieved on time.
• Prepare and process Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) as required to support product and process changes.
• Provide technical support and engineering solutions to customers throughout the project lifecycle.
• Prepare testing quotations for customers, follow up on purchase order (PO) approvals, and ensure timely completion and delivery of testing services.
• Coordinate with Production, Quality, Tooling, and Maintenance teams to ensure smooth project implementation and successful product launches.
• Track project progress, identify potential risks, and implement corrective actions to ensure project objectives are met.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives, including process optimization, cost reduction, and productivity enhancement activities.

Education & Experience

Possess at least a Diploma, or an equivalent qualification.

Minimum of 2 years of relevant working experience in project engineering, moulding, manufacturing, or a related field.

Customer-focused with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work independently and effectively under pressure in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and with customers.

Resourceful, proactive, and self-motivated in identifying and resolving customer and project-related issues.

Good organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a continuous improvement mindset.

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and basic project documentation practices.

Willing to travel or attend customer meetings when required.
