Job summary

Sime Darby Industrial Sdn Bhd is seeking a project execution professional to drive delivery of high-value industrial projects from handover through commissioning. You will form execution roadmaps, coordinate procurement, and ensure technical compliance within agreed timelines.

The role requires 2–3 years in project execution with rotating machinery or critical equipment, and a strong focus on cost control and schedule adherence.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical or Mechanical.

Responsibilities

• Execute projects from handover to delivery and commissioning within schedule.
• Formulate a project execution roadmap using MS Project or equivalent.
• Ensure technical compliance within contractually agreed timelines.
• Improve processes to achieve delivery targets.
• Monitor performance and costs of packaging works.
• Manage procurement: sourcing materials, equipment and services.
• Liaise with vendors for RFQ/RFP, bid evaluations, and PO issuance.
• Expedite materials deliveries and coordinate logistics to milestones.
• Oversee document control: submissions, drawings, method statements, test reports.
• Maintain documentation aligned with project/quality management.
• Attend site and technical meetings with clients.
• Resolve technical and commercial issues arising.
• Contribute to departmental performance through engineering competency and cost competitiveness.

Job description

• Execution of projects secured by the Sales team from commencement/handover through to delivery and final commissioning within the project framework, i.e., cost and schedule compliance.


• Formulation of a project execution roadmap (using Microsoft Project or equivalent tools) to fulfill contractual delivery requirements.


• Responsible for technical compliance of the project work scope within contractually agreed timelines.


• To continuously devise and implement more efficient processes to achieve project delivery targets.


• Monitoring packaging works performance and associated costs by Electric Power Diesel Department.


• Manage procurement activities including sourcing of materials, equipment, and services in accordance with project specifications, budget, and schedule.


• Liaise with vendors and suppliers for RFQ/RFP, technical clarifications, bid evaluations, and issuance of purchase orders.


• Ensure timely material delivery by expediting suppliers and coordinating logistics to meet project milestones.


• Oversee document control functions including submission, tracking, and approval of technical documents such as material submissions, shop drawings, method statements, test reports, and O&M manuals.


• Maintain proper documentation records in line with project and quality management requirements.


• Execution of non-sales related duties that may be assigned from time to time by the Manager that will enhance and contribute to the overall efficient operation of the department.


• Attending site meetings and technical meetings with clients.


• Attending project technical clarification meetings and resolving technical and commercial issues arising thereof.


• Contribute significantly to departmental performance through engineering competency and cost competitiveness.

Job Requirements:

• Degree in Engineering. Preferably with Electrical or Mechanical background


• At least 2–3 years of experience in project execution involving rotating machinery or critical equipment (eg; turbines and engines) as well as experience in engineering project management.
