Robert Bosch Semiconductor Manufacturing Penang Sdn. Bhd. Plant is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to ensure reliability, availability, and safety of production equipment.
You will own maintenance KPIs, drive improvements, and lead preventive maintenance programs across a designated technology cluster. The role requires strong problem-solving, data analytics, and the ability to coach maintenance teams while collaborating with Production, Quality, and Safety departments to achieve performance
The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for ensuring the reliability, availability, safety and performance of production equipment, machines, jigs and fixtures within an assigned production area.
The position owns maintenance performance indicators, drives continuous improvement initiatives to reduce equipment downtime, develops maintenance standards, and serves as a technical escalation point for complex equipment issues beyond technician capability.
The role also contributes to a designated Technology Cluster and owns at least one horizontal maintenance topic relevant across all customer areas, such as Preventive Maintenance, Spare Parts Management, or Predictive Maintenance.
The engineer needs to coordinate resources and work closely with Production, Quality, Safety, Facility/Contract Management and support department KPI achievement.

The construction has begun in May 2021 and first series of production to commence in 2023. With the long-term forecasts for growth of semiconductor component quantities, coupled with the front-end production in Bosch’s Dresden facility in Germany, capacity expansion is required for the back-end production, which is the final testing phase of semiconductors and sensors. PgP5 will primarily focus on the final testing of components manufactured at Bosch Automotive Electronics’ fab in Dresden, Germany. The plant will also house R&D and training facilities.
