Job summary

GlobalComm Solutions Sdn Bhd seeks an ELV Technician to install, configure, test, and maintain CCTV, access control, fire alarm, car park, intercom, public address, and structured cabling systems on-site in Penang. You will read drawings and ensure work meets engineering standards and safety requirements.

You will perform wiring, terminations, testing, and commissioning, troubleshoot faults, and prepare clear reports for clients and consultants.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in ELV system installation and maintenance.
• Familiarity with wiring, termination, and troubleshooting of ELV systems.
• Ability to read and interpret schematic drawings, layouts, and technical manuals.
• Good communication and ability to work in a team.
• Based in Penang, Malaysia.

Job description

This role involves the installation, configuration, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of ELV (Extra Low Voltage) systems including CCTV, access control, fire alarm, car park systems, intercom, public address, and structured cabling. You will ensure all installations comply with engineering drawings, standards, and safety requirements while supporting project execution and coordination across M&E projects.

Key responsibilities

- Install and configure ELV systems, including CCTV, access control, fire alarm, Car park system, intercom, public address, and structured cabling.

- Perform wiring, termination, labeling, and patch panel setup for structured cabling systems.

- Ensure installation complies with engineering drawings, standards, and safety requirements.

- Conduct system testing, programming, and commissioning of ELV systems.

- Troubleshoot and resolve faults during installation or post-handover.

- Prepare testing and commissioning reports for client/consultant review.

3) Maintenance & Support

- Perform routine preventive and corrective maintenance of ELV systems.

- Respond to breakdowns and service calls promptly.

- Document maintenance activities and provide recommendations for improvements.

4) Project Execution & Coordination

- Assist project engineers and supervisors in executing ELV works according to project timelines.

- Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and clients to ensure smooth coordination.

- Ensure tools, equipment, and materials are properly handled and maintained.

5) Compliance & Safety

- Follow company safety guidelines, quality standards, and project-specific procedures.

- Ensure proper documentation of work activities and compliance with ISO/QA requirements.

6) Able to read and interpret ELV drawings, layouts, and schematics.

About you

Minimum 1 year of experience in ELV systems installation and maintenance (CCTV, access control, fire alarm, cabling, etc.), preferably in construction or M&E projects

Familiarity with wiring, termination, and troubleshooting of ELV systems

Ability to read and interpret schematic drawings, layouts, and technical manuals

Good communication skills and ability to work in a team

Physically fit and able to work on-site
