Job summary

ROMAR DISTRIBUTION SDN. BHD. in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Service Centre Technician to inspect, diagnose, repair, test, and document electronic products at the Authorized Service Centre.

The role requires hands-on electronics repair experience, ability to work independently, strong attention to detail, and good communication in English and Bahasa Melayu. Training and facilities are provided.

Qualifications

• A certificate, diploma, or practical training in electronics, electrical work, mechatronics, appliance servicing, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience repairing electronic products or equipment; entry-level applicants with strong practical skills are welcome.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple repair cases, and maintain a professional, customer-focused approach.
• Basic ability to use tools such as a multimeter and to follow technical instructions.
• Good attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a responsible attitude.
• Basic computer skills and clear communication with customers and colleagues.
• Experience with soldering, diagnostic software or calibration is an advantage.
• Previous warranty, workshop, or service-centre experience is an advantage.
• Ability to communicate in English and Bahasa Melayu.

Responsibilities

• Inspect products and identify reported faults.
• Carry out approved repairs, parts replacement, cleaning, updates, and basic maintenance.
• Test repaired products before they are returned to the customer.
• Record the fault, work completed, parts used, and test results.
• Provide repair estimates for non-warranty work and wait for approval before proceeding.
• Keep products, spare parts, tools, and the workshop organized and secure.
• Ask the manager or manufacturer for support when a case is complex or outside your authority.
