Job summary

Uzma Group seeks an Electrical & Instrumentation Technician to support GoWS equipment operations. You will troubleshoot, maintain, and repair electrical gear including generators, sensors, and instrumentation, ensuring safety and Zone 2 compliance.

You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, document findings and spare‑part usage, and assist with field deployments for oilfield operations, including offshore support when needed.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Electrical & Electronics or Process Instrumentation & Control.
• 1–2 years of relevant experience in electrical/electronics or oilfield equipment maintenance.
• Proficient reading electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and datasheets.
• Familiar with multimeters, insulation testers, and clamp meters.
• Willingness to travel and support field or offshore operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment.
• Inspect, test, diagnose faults in single‑phase and three‑phase systems.
• Maintain records of inspections, repairs, and spare‑part usage.
• Provide electrical and instrumentation support for Coiled Tubing, Cementing, and Pumping equipment.

• Assist with installation, testing, commissioning of components.

Job description

• To ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of electrical, electronic, and instrumentation systems supporting GoWS equipment and operations.
• To perform effective troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and corrective repairs to minimise equipment downtime and maintain operational readiness.

Key Accountabilities

• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair electrical equipment including generators, air compressors, motors, sensors, and instrumentation systems.
• Ensure electrical work complies with single-phase and three-phase system requirements, Zone 2 hazardous-area requirements, and applicable safety standards.
• Support equipment readiness and field operations for Coiled Tubing, Cementing, and Pumping equipment through timely inspection, fault rectification, and maintenance support.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment including generators, air compressors, motors, sensors, and instrumentation systems.
• Inspect, test, and diagnose electrical faults in single-phase and three-phase systems using appropriate electrical test instruments and safe troubleshooting practices.
• Carry out inspection and troubleshooting of sensors, transmitters, control circuits, wiring, connectors, and instrumentation used on operational equipment.
• Ensure all electrical work is performed in accordance with company HSE requirements, electrical safety practices, and applicable Zone 2 hazardous-area requirements.
• Support pre-job and post-job equipment checks to ensure electrical and instrumentation systems are serviceable, safe, and ready for field deployment.
• Provide electrical and instrumentation support for Coiled Tubing, Cementing, and Pumping equipment and operations, including fault rectification during equipment preparation and field activities.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection findings, repair history, and spare‑part usage, and promptly report recurring or critical equipment faults to the Engineer On‑Site.
• Assist with installation, testing, commissioning, and functional checks of repaired, replacement, or newly installed electrical and instrumentation components.
• Maintain good housekeeping of electrical work areas, tools, test equipment, cables, and spare parts, and ensure tools and instruments are kept in serviceable condition.
• Ensure full QHSE compliance with all applicable legal, regulatory, client, and company requirements.

Job Requirements

• Diploma in Electrical & Electronics or Diploma in Process Instrumentation & Control (Majoring in Electrical or Electronics)
• 1-2 years of relevant experience in electrical, electronic, instrumentation, or oilfield equipment maintenance.
• Computer literacy, including basic use of maintenance records, reports, email, and Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, equipment manuals, and technical datasheets.
• Competent in the use of multimeters, insulation testers, clamp meters, and other basic electrical and instrumentation test equipment.
• Knowledge of generators, air compressors, electric motors, control panels, sensors, transmitters, and basic instrumentation systems.
• Knowledge of single‑phase and three‑phase electrical systems and basic fault‑finding principles.
• Basic knowledge of hazardous area / Zone 2 requirements and safe electrical practices is preferred.
• Good troubleshooting, analytical, communication, and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently when required.
• Experience with Coiled Tubing, Cementing, Pumping, or other oilfield service equipment will be an added advantage.
• Willingness to travel and support field or offshore operations as required by operational needs.
