Job summary

Konecranes Material Handling (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a skilled Field Engineer to provide on-site engineering support, commissioning and maintenance for overhead cranes and lifting equipment.

You will specialize in crane electrical systems, PLCs and industrial automation, performing inspections, troubleshooting and modernization projects. Responsibilities include PLC programming, Smart Relay configuration, fault diagnosis, and training for customers and internal staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Carry out site engineering inspections, troubleshooting, commissioning and assessments on overhead cranes.
• Program, modify and troubleshoot PLC systems including Siemens, Schneider, Mitsubishi, Allen-Bradley, Omron or equivalent platforms.
• Configure and troubleshoot Smart Relays including Siemens LOGO!, Schneider Zelio and equivalent systems.
• Diagnose and rectify faults involving crane electrical systems, VFDs, motors, encoders, sensors, limit switches, load cells and safety circuits.
• Lead crane modernization, control upgrades, PLC migration and electrical retrofit projects.
• Assess and certify cranes and related equipment as required under inspection and consultation services.
• Develop and maintain business relationships with customers through regular visits and technical consultation.
• Conduct product knowledge and technical training for customers and internal personnel.
• Ensure compliance with EHS requirements and proper use of tools and PPE.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and communicate with principals and manufacturers to identify effective solutions.
• Monitor service quality, resource utilization and profitability targets.
• Awareness of ISO 14001 and 45001 standards.

Job description

Responsible for providing expert field engineering support, commissioning, troubleshooting, maintenance, modernization and inspection of overhead cranes and lifting equipment with specialization in crane electrical systems, PLCs, Smart Relays and industrial automation.

Key responsibilities

Carry out site engineering inspections, troubleshooting, commissioning and assessments on overhead cranes in accordance with company standards and guidelines

Program, modify and troubleshoot PLC systems including Siemens, Schneider, Mitsubishi, Allen-Bradley, Omron or equivalent platforms

Configure and troubleshoot Smart Relays including Siemens LOGO!, Schneider Zelio and equivalent systems

Diagnose and rectify faults involving crane electrical systems, VFDs, motors, encoders, sensors, limit switches, load cells and safety circuits

Prepare engineering reports that include technical findings, root cause analysis, recommendations and planning schedules

Lead crane modernization, control upgrades, PLC migration and electrical retrofit projects

Assess and certify cranes and related equipment as required under inspection and consultation services

Develop and maintain business relationships with customers through regular visits and technical consultation

Conduct product knowledge and technical training for customers and internal personnel

Ensure compliance with EHS requirements and proper use of tools and PPE

Troubleshoot technical issues and communicate with principals and manufacturers to identify effective solutions
