Job summary

Anshin Steel Processor Sdn Bhd in Bukit Kayu Hitam, Kedah seeks a Contract Electrical Engineer/Site Engineer to supervise electrical construction on large infrastructure projects and ensure work aligns with drawings, specifications and client requirements.

The candidate should hold a Diploma in Electrical Engineering with at least 1 year of site experience; travel to other sites may be required. NTSP/RAA/GCQP is an added advantage, with strong communication and reporting skills essential.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 1 year of experience as Electrical Engineer/Site Engineer on large-scale infrastructure projects.
• NTSP/RAA/GCQP holder is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate electrical construction and installation activities on site.
• Ensure electrical works follow drawings, project specs, standards, and client requirements.
• Monitor daily site progress to achieve milestones within the approved schedule.
• Coordinate with civil, mechanical, QA/QC, HSE, consultants, subcontractors, and client.
• Review electrical drawings, SLDs, cable schedules, method statements, and specs.
• Supervise electrical installation works.
• Monitor subcontractor performance for quality and productivity.
• Coordinate inspection and testing activities (IR tests, continuity, cable, protection relay, pre-commissioning).
• Support commissioning and energisation/grid synchronisation.
• Prepare inspection requests, checklists, and as-built documentation.
• Prepare daily/weekly/monthly site progress reports.
• Monitor materials deliveries and inventory for timely execution.
• Identify technical issues and design discrepancies and propose solutions.
• Work with SHO to ensure HSE, PTW, LOTO compliance.
• Attend site coordination meetings with clients and consultants.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Project Manager.

Working Hours : Monday to Saturday (8.30 am - 5.00 pm)

Job Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate all electrical construction and installation activities on site.
• Ensure electrical works are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, applicable standards, and client requirements.
• Monitor daily site progress and ensure project milestones are achieved within the approved schedule.
• Coordinate with civil, mechanical, QA/QC, HSE, consultants, subcontractors, and the client to ensure smooth project execution.
• Review electrical drawings, single-line diagrams (SLD), cable schedules, method statements, and technical specifications prior to construction.
• Supervise electrical installation works.
• Monitor subcontractor performance to ensure workmanship, productivity, and quality meet project requirements.
• Coordinate inspection and testing activities, including insulation resistance tests, continuity tests, cable testing, protection relay testing, and pre-commissioning works.
• Support commissioning activities and assist in energisation and grid synchronisation in accordance with project procedures.
• Ensure compliance with project QA/QC requirements by preparing inspection requests, checklists, and as-built documentation.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly site progress reports.
• Monitor material deliveries, installation progress, and inventory to ensure timely project execution.
• Identify technical issues, construction challenges, and design discrepancies, and recommend practical solutions.
• Work closely with the Safety & Health Officer (SHO) to ensure compliance with HSE requirements, Permit-to-Work (PTW), Lock-Out Tag-Out (LOTO), and electrical safety procedures.
• Attend site coordination meetings, technical discussions, and progress review meetings with clients and consultants.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Project Manager.

Job Requirements

• Minimum Diploma in Electrical Engineering or its related field.
• Have 1 year of experience as Electrical Engineer / Site Engineer in large scale infrastructure projects.
• NTSP/RAA/GCQP holder is an added advantage.
• Have any experience in TNB projects.
• Have good communication and strong problem-solving skills.
• Have good report writing skills.
• Willing to travel to other site projects if required.
