Job summary

Jobstreet Malaysia is seeking an Electrical Engineer to plan, design, coordinate and implement electrical infrastructure for a major industrial land development. The role involves power supply planning, distribution coordination, street lighting and telecom infrastructure, with active liaison with TNB, providers and authorities.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering and 2–3 years of relevant experience, with strong analytical, writing and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognised university.
• 2–3 years of experience in electrical engineering consultancy, infrastructure or power projects; senior level for more experience.
• Exposure to electrical distribution, substations, underground cabling or infrastructure is a plus.
• Strong analytical, technical writing and communication abilities.
• Ability to work with multidisciplinary project teams and external stakeholders.
• Fresh graduates with the right attitude and willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, coordinate and implement electrical infrastructure for a major industrial land development.
• Design electrical infrastructure and plan power supply and loads for industrial development.
• Coordinate electrical distribution systems and street/traffic lighting.
• Plan telecommunications infrastructure and review drawings, specifications and calculations.
• Coordinate with civil/structural colleagues and liaise with TNB, providers, authorities.
• Review contractor submissions, shop drawings and material submissions.
• Conduct site inspections and monitor construction works.
• Perform testing, commissioning and handover activities.
• Prepare technical reports, meeting notes and correspondence.

Key Responsibilities:

The Electrical Engineer will be involved in the planning, design, coordination and implementation of electrical infrastructure for a major industrial land development.

• Electrical infrastructure planning and design
• Power supply and electrical load planning for industrial development
• Coordination of electrical distribution systems
• Street lighting and traffic light systems
• Telecommunications infrastructure planning
• Preparation and review of drawings, specifications, calculations and technical documentation
• Coordination with civil, structural and other engineering disciplines
• Liaison and technical coordination with TNB, telecommunications providers, local authorities and other relevant agencies
• Review of contractor submissions, shop drawings and material submissions
• Site inspections and monitoring of construction works
• Testing, commissioning and handover activities
• Preparation of technical reports, meeting documentation and correspondence

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognised university
• Preferably 2-3 years of experience in electrical engineering consultancy, infrastructure or power-related projects. Those with more experience will be considered for Senior position.
• Exposure to electrical distribution, substations, underground cabling or infrastructure development will be an advantage
