OM Materials (Sarawak) Sdn Bhd is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join the Samalaju Industrial Park team in Sarawak. The role focuses on managing electrical equipment, maintenance planning, and asset records to ensure reliable production operations.

You will lead inspections, troubleshoot, support upgrades, and collaborate with procurement and maintenance teams. Bachelor in Engineering (Electrical/Electronic) and 3+ years experience are preferred; Mandarin is an asset for liaising with vendors.

Qualificações

• 3+ years experience in related field.
• Good analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Fluency in Mandarin is preferred for Mandarin-speaking vendors.

Responsabilidades

• Manages electrical equipment and spare parts in assigned area for reliability.
• Performs checks to ensure procedures, safety and standards alignment.
• Maintains records of electrical assets and spare parts for tracking.
• Conducts routine inspections, troubleshooting and optimization to reduce downtime.
• Coordinates with procurement and warehouse on specifications and receipt.
• Supports upgrades, modifications and commissioning of equipment.
• Assists in preventive maintenance planning and annual overhauls.
• Participates in fault investigations and technical training to improve reliability.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Manages electrical equipment and spare parts within the assigned area, ensuring availability, reliability and efficient utilization in support of production operations;
• Performs checks to ensure that equipment operations comply with established procedures, safety requirements and operational standards to prevent deviations and incidents;
• Maintains and updates records and databases of electrical assets, equipment history, and spare parts to support effective tracking and resource planning;
• Conducts routine equipment inspections, troubleshooting, and performance optimisation to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-efficient operations;
• Establishes and maintains electrical equipment documentation, including technical records, maintenance data, and performance analysis;
• Coordinates with procurement and warehouse teams on specification, ordering, receipt and acceptance of electrical materials and parts;
• Participates in equipment upgrades, modifications and renovation projects, including planning, implementation, testing and commissioning support;
• Supports maintenance teams in diagnosing and resolving complex electrical equipment failures, providing technical guidance to minimize downtime and operational impact;
• Assists in planning and monitoring preventive maintenance programs, including annual overhauls and period repairs, ensuring quality and timely completion;
• Participates in equipment failure investigations and technical training initiatives to enhance operational reliability and workforce competency;
• Carries out any other duties or responsibilities as assigned to you and/or as directed by your superior(s).

Requirements

• Candidate must possess at least Bachelor of Engineering degree or equivalent, preferably in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from a recognized tertiary education institution.
• Candidates with 3 or more years experience in related field.
• Good analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Fluency in Mandarin is preferred as the role is requested to deal with Mandarin speaking foreign employees/vendor.
• Applicants must be willing to work in Samalaju, Bintulu Sarawak.
