Job summary

Brooks Automation is seeking an Electrical Component Engineer in Pasir Gudang, Johor Bahru to join our team and drive lifecycle management, BOM analysis, and supplier collaboration for long-term product sustainability.

The role emphasizes obsolescence management, SiliconExpert usage, and evaluation of alternate components, supporting ECOs/MCOs across global teams while ensuring RoHS and REACH compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering or related field.
• 3-5 years of hands-on experience in component engineering and BOM analysis.
• Experience with SiliconExpert, lifecycle management, and supplier collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Learn and work with complex systems quickly and independently.
• Manage component lifecycle and identify EOL, PCN, LTB risks and supply chain disruptions.
• Perform lifecycle risk assessment using SiliconExpert.
• Scrub BOMs using SiliconExpert and supplier databases to identify obsolete or NRND parts and single-source risks.
• Evaluate alternate components for fit and create comparison reports.
• Collaborate with Electrical Engineering, PCB Design, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality and suppliers.
• Support ECOs and MCOs and ensure regulatory compliance (RoHS, REACH, etc.).
