Job summary

Sapura Industrial Berhad in Malaysia is seeking a Technician Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) to operate IETS and APCS, monitor performance and conduct maintenance, and manage waste activities in compliance with local regulations.

The role requires a Diploma in Environmental Engineering, Occupational Safety & Health, or related field, with fresh or 1 year of experience. You will collaborate with local authorities and labs to ensure safety, quality, and sustainable practices.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Environmental Engineering, Occupational Safety & Health, Industrial Engineering or related field.
• Fresh/local worker with minimum 1 year experience in related field.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Basic understanding of ISO 9001:2015, IATF16949:2016, ISO14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 OSHA or other EHS standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate IETS & APCS and ensure smooth, efficient processes.
• Perform regular performance monitoring and preventive maintenance of IETS & APCS.
• Manage scheduled waste activities including collection, segregation, labeling, storage, and reporting.
• Coordinate with DOE-licensed waste transporters for compliant waste collection and disposal.
• Coordinate with labs for annual/periodic regulatory assessments (noise, emissions, wastewater, CEM/CHRA/NRA) and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Ensure compliance with Malaysia requirements (EQA 1974, SW Regulations 2005, DOE, DOSH, EECA 2024, etc.).
• Carry out inspection and maintenance on PPE and emergency equipment.
• Liaise with authorities (DOSH, DOE, BOMBA, LUAS, KKM).
• Collect and compile data for weekly/monthly/annual regulatory reports.
• Monitor machine safeguarding, LOTO and permit-to-work systems.
• Identify and report unsafe conditions to leadership.
• Comply with health and safety regulations and wear PPE.
• Suggest improvements to enhance safety, efficiency, and cleanliness.
• Assist in creating and managing department documents.
