Job summary

• Experience in early childhood education.
• You operate as part of a year group team, working closely with the class teacher, but are line managed by the Head of Year.

Responsibilities

• Actively engage with and promote the school's philosophy, ethos and values.
• Be in school between 7.30am and 4.30pm every school day and attending school events as designated by the Principal.
• Assist in the educational and social development of students under the direction and guidance of the Principal and Class Teachers
• Work with small groups of students to implement a teacher-planned lessons
• Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities
• Work with specialist teachers when required
• Assist class teachers with maintaining student records
• Support students with emotional or behavioural problems and help develop their social skills
• Prepare and present displays of students' work
• Organise equipment and prepare materials for lessons
• Support class teachers in photocopying and other tasks
• Attend team and staff meetings as required
• Undertake professional duties that may be reasonably assigned by the Principal or Line Manager
• Offer two after-school activities per week or other duties in lieu (EYFS excepted)
• Report any Health and Safety concerns around the school
• Accompany pupils around the school to specialist lessons as required
• Report any safeguarding concern to a member of the school's safeguarding team and undergo all required safeguarding training.
