Job summary

KL-Kepong Oleomas Sdn Bhd, Malaysia, seeks an Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer to lead maintenance across instrumentation systems, PLCs, and control networks, with a focus on reliability and continuous improvement in a chemical/plastics manufacturing setting.

The role requires a degree in Instrumentation & Control or Electrical & Electronic Engineering and at least 1 year in process manufacturing; refinery equipment experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Degree in Instrument & Control, Electrical & Electronic or Mechatronic Engineering.
• Minimum 1 year experience in process or manufacturing industry.
• Experience with processing or refinery plant equipment is an added advantage.
• Hands-on skills with PLC, DCS, field instruments, loop diagrams and motor control.

Responsibilities

• Lead preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities, including troubleshooting and planning.
• Provide technical support to on-site teams for maintenance and operations.
• Monitor electrical, instrumentation, automation, and communications systems performance.
• Ensure compliance of electrical and electronic systems with regulatory and company standards.
• Review supplier documentation and support inspection and testing activities.
• Design and develop new control systems aligned with process requirements.

Job description

Lead and supervise preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities, including troubleshooting, work order planning, scheduling, system operation, inspection, and continuous improvement, particularly in instrumentation systems

Provide technical support and guidance to on-site teams to ensure effective execution of maintenance and operational activities

Monitor and ensure optimal performance of electrical, instrumentation, automation, and communication systems

Ensure all electrical and electronic systems comply with statutory, regulatory, and company requirements

Review supplier documentation, provide technical feedback, and support inspection and testing activities

Design and develop new control systems in line with operational and process requirements

REQUIREMENTS :

Degree in Instrument & Control, Electrical & Electronic or Mechatronic Engineering

Minimum 1 year working experience in process or manufacturing industry

Experience in processing or refinery plant equipment is an added advantage.

Hands on skill and knowledge in PLC, DCS network, field instruments, loop diagram, electrical distribution, motor control etc

Familiar with machinery equipment; packaging machine, boilers, thermal oil heaters, chillers, etc
