Job summary

Regent International School in Malaysia is seeking an English as an Additional Language Teacher to craft engaging EAL lessons, develop speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills, and help students gain confidence using English in academic and social settings. You will plan lessons, differentiate instruction, collaborate with faculty, monitor progress, and communicate with parents as needed.

A Bachelor’s Degree in Education or English plus a recognised teaching qualification is required,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or English with a recognised teaching qualification.
• Strong command of written and spoken English.
• At least 2 years of teaching experience, preferably in international schools.
• Experience teaching EAL/ELL is advantageous.
• Familiarity with Cambridge/IGCSE curriculum is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design engaging EAL lessons tailored to students’ language-learning needs.
• Develop students’ English skills: speaking, listening, reading, writing, vocabulary, grammar, and communication.
• Encourage active participation and build confidence in using English in academic and social settings.
• Prepare lesson plans and teaching materials based on proficiency levels and curricula.
• Differentiate instruction and adapt materials for diverse abilities and learning styles.
• Assess and monitor language development and progress; provide feedback and support.
• Maintain accurate records of lessons, assessments, and student progress.
• Communicate with colleagues, students, and parents about language development as required.
• Collaborate with other teachers to support students needing extra English support.
