Passion Republic in Malaysia is seeking a dedicated Combat Designer to shape engaging combat systems, weapons, and enemy interactions for an upcoming title. The role focuses on delivering compelling gameplay and robust combat documentation.

You will collaborate with design, engineering, art, animation, and narrative teams to implement features within the project timeline, ensuring balance and quality from concept through shipping.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as Combat Designer.
• A passion for action and combat-focused games.
• Strong communication and collaboration with engineering, art, and design teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop combat gameplay from concept to completion.
• Create and maintain clear documentation for combat features and mechanics.
• Collaborate with Project Manager and disciplines (Animation, VFX, Sound, Narrative, Engineering, Character Art) to implement features within time and resources.
• Be the lead for combat discussions with wider Game Design and Production-related teams.
• Combat features and assets implemented through state machines and blueprints.
• Address and incorporate playtest feedback to balance combat experience through integration to shipping.
