Job summary

Deloitte is seeking a Senior Finance Analyst to join our Kuala Lumpur office. The role focuses on applying accounting principles, performing reconciliations, and maintaining financial records in line with firm policies.

The successful candidate will contribute to month-end close, balance sheet analysis, and timely reporting while leveraging SAP and BlackLINE. Strong communication and IFRS knowledge are essential, with 5–8 years of relevant experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduation or Post Graduation Degree in Accounting & Auditing.
• Experience- 5 to 8 years relevant experience.
• Understanding IFRS is preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel and Word.
• Understanding of core finance business processes.
• Ability to use VBA to improve productivity.

Responsibilities

• Apply accounting principles to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports.
• Perform financial operational reconciliations including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow analysis.
• Conduct monthly account reconciliations in a timely and accurate manner.
• Maintain financial records and analyze revenues and expenses.
• Handle month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close and reporting.
• Prepare journal entries and general ledger operations.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and ageing analysis of open items.
• Respond to stakeholder queries with timely, accurate information.
• Document processes and coordinate with team to reflect current processes.
• Support process improvements and SLA achievement across the team.

Work you’ll do

• Application of accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information, prepare accurate/timely financial reports & statements and ensure appropriate accounting control procedures.
• Perform financial operational reconciliations including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow analysis.
• Perform monthly account reconciliations in a timely and accurate manner.
• Maintenance of financial records (including analysis of revenues & expenses) in compliance with accepted firm policies and procedures.
• Monthly, quarterly and year end book closure and reporting.
• Preparation of journal entries and other general ledger operations.
• Preparation of balance sheet account reconciliation and ageing analysis of open items.
• Understanding the Key Business drivers and ensure timely response to the stakeholder queries.
• Preparation of process documentation and coordination with other team members to ensure it reflects the current processes.
• Work as a team to achieve Service Level Agreement for the process and individual targets; and work towards process improvement activities.
• Participate in Transitions / new activities for their respective Member Firm processes.
• Support identification and integration of any new technology like SAP, Blackline, etc. (including the enhancement of platforms for Collections, Finance & Accounting and Billing functions).
• Work on AO reports and provide analysis on Aged Debt Report, Missing Time report, Head Count Report, Risk analysis, Chargebacks & Adjustments, etc,
• Ensure compliance with Member Firm process guidelines and Firm Policies.
• Liaising and collaborating with other members of the internal finance team and the Business

Qualifications and experience required

• Graduation or Post Graduation Degree in Accounting & Auditing
• Experience- 5 to 8 years relevant experience

Preferred

• Understanding of SAP, AO, blackline and other financial applications.
• Minimum of 5+ years of relevant finance and accounting experience.
• Understanding International Accounting Principles (IFRS).
• Good knowledge on the Microsoft Office applications including MS Excel and MS word.
• Knowledge of general accounting procedures is required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong understanding of core finance business processes.
• Use of VBA coding to reduce production time and enhance customer experience.
• Ability to work effectively, both independently and as a member of a team.
