Job summary

ELSA in Kuala Lumpur seeks an experienced Drilling Superintendent to lead the planning, coordination and execution of drilling operations for an international upstream oil & gas project, while supporting operations in Oman.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Petroleum or Mechanical Engineering, 10+ years as a Drilling Superintendent, 5+ years in deepwater drilling operations, IWCF Level 4, and strong leadership and English communication to manage stakeholders, travel and site activities.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience as Drilling Superintendent.

Responsibilities

• Lead drilling operations to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective project execution.
• Review drilling programs, operational procedures, and well plans.
• Coordinate drilling activities with contractors, service providers, and project teams.
• Monitor operational performance and resolve drilling-related challenges.
• Ensure compliance with HSE standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
• Manage drilling resources, equipment, materials, and operational schedules.
• Support incident investigations and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Mentor drilling engineers and provide technical guidance throughout project execution.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will provide technical leadership, ensure operational excellence, and oversee drilling activities from planning through execution while supporting operations in Oman.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead drilling operations to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective project execution.

• Coordinate drilling activities with contractors, service providers, and project teams.

Requirements

• Valid IWCF Level 4 certification.
• Strong leadership, planning, and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent English communication skills.
• Willing to travel and support operations in Oman.
