Job summary

ELSA in Sabah is seeking an experienced Drilling SSHE Advisor to support risk control activities for an upstream oil & gas project in Sabah. The role focuses on providing SSHE advisory support for drilling, workover, and P&A operations, and ensuring effective risk controls across onshore and offshore activities.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s or Diploma in Science or Engineering with 12+ years in Oil & Gas, including PSC environments and deepwater exposure, and will work closely with

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Science or Engineering required.
• Minimum 12 years in Oil & Gas industry.
• Experience in PSC environment.
• 7+ years supporting drilling, workover or P&A operations.
• Experience supporting exploration, appraisal and development drilling.

Responsibilities

• Provide SSHE advisory support for drilling, workover and P&A operations.
• Provide SSHE guidance for exploration, appraisal and development drilling projects.
• Support identification, assessment and management of SSHE risks for drilling activities.
• Advise drilling and operational teams on SSHE matters and risk controls.
• Support implementation and monitoring of SSHE requirements for drilling activities, onshore or offshore.
• Identify SSHE risks and recommend control measures.
• Support incident prevention and continuous improvement of SSHE practices.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to promote safe drilling operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide SSHE advisory support for drilling, workover and Plug & Abandonment (P&A) operations.
• Provide SSHE guidance and support for exploration, appraisal and development drilling projects.
• Support the identification, assessment and management of SSHE risks associated with drilling activities.
• Provide advice to drilling and operational teams on SSHE matters and appropriate risk controls.
• Support the implementation and monitoring of SSHE requirements for assigned drilling activities, whether onshore or offshore.
• Identify potential SSHE risks and recommend appropriate control measures.
• Support incident prevention and continuous improvement of SSHE practices.
• Work closely with relevant stakeholders to promote safe and effective execution of drilling operations.

Key Requirements

• Minimum Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Science or Engineering.
• Minimum 12 years of working experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
• Experience working within a Production Sharing Contract (PSC) environment.
• Minimum 7 years of experience supporting drilling, workover and/or Plug & Abandonment (P&A) operations.
• Experience supporting exploration, appraisal and development drilling projects.
• Minimum 2 years of experience supporting deepwater drilling operations.
• Deepwater experience is defined as working in water depths exceeding 4,000 ft.
