Job summary

Dr Farid Medical Clinic in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, seeks a Doctor (Resident) to join our team. This full‑time position offers supervision by senior practitioners and opportunities to develop clinical skills in primary care leadership and patient management.

Qualifications

• A Medical degree (MBBS, MD or equivalent) from a recognised medical school.
• Current and valid medical registration or licensure to practise in Malaysia.
• Completion of foundation year training or equivalent post-graduate medical experience.
• Strong clinical knowledge in general practice and primary healthcare.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently while seeking guidance when needed.
• Commitment to professional development and continuous learning.
• Understanding of patient safety principles and high clinical standards.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of Malay/Sabahan languages is advantageous.
• Organisational and time management skills for multiple tasks.

About the role

We are seeking a Doctor (Resident) to join our medical team at Dr Farid Medical Clinic in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. This is a full-time position offering an excellent opportunity for medical professionals to develop their clinical skills and experience in a general practice environment. As a Doctor (Resident), you will work under the supervision of senior practitioners whilst gaining valuable experience in primary care management, patient consultation, and medical decision-making. This role is essential to our clinic's operations and will allow you to build a strong foundation in general practice medicine.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient consultations and medical assessments in accordance with clinical guidelines and best practice standards
• Perform clinical examinations and diagnostic procedures as required
• Develop and implement appropriate treatment plans and management strategies under supervision
• Prescribe medications and medical treatments in compliance with regulatory requirements
• Maintain accurate and detailed medical records for all patients
• Work collaboratively with senior medical staff and other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care
• Provide health education and preventative care advice to patients
• Assist with minor surgical procedures and wound management as appropriate
• Support the clinic's operations and contribute to maintaining high standards of patient safety and care quality
• Participate in clinical audits, quality improvements and ongoing professional development activities

What we're looking for

• A Medical degree (MBBS, MD or equivalent) from a recognised medical school
• Current and valid medical registration or licensure to practise as a doctor in Malaysia
• Completion of foundation year training or equivalent post-graduate medical experience
• Strong clinical knowledge and competence in general practice and primary healthcare
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with patients, colleagues and other healthcare professionals
• Ability to work independently whilst seeking guidance when required, demonstrating good clinical judgment and decision-making
• Commitment to professional development and continuous learning within the healthcare field
• Understanding of patient safety principles and commitment to maintaining high standards of clinical practice
• Fluency in English; knowledge of local languages (Malay, Sabahan dialects) is advantageous
• Organisational and time management skills to manage multiple patients and clinical tasks effectively
