Job summary

Plexus Manufacturing Sdn Bhd seeks an experienced Operations Director to lead site manufacturing operations in line with corporate objectives. You will drive lean practices, manage supply chain and capacity, and deliver on quality, OTD and profitability targets.

The role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and excellent communication. A bachelor’s degree and extensive experience in manufacturing are essential for this senior position in Penang, Malaysia.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and promote best practices; drive lean manufacturing and Kaizen.
• Oversee manufacturing operations, supply chain, performance and capacity management.
• Provide leadership to manufacturing operations team and implement vision, strategy, quality, OTD, revenue and profitability.
• Manage daily metrics and SOP-defined targets.
• Develop and motivate the manufacturing operations team; strengthen succession planning and leadership capability.

Job description

Purpose Statement:

Manages site manufacturing operations by establishing strategic plans that align to site and Corporate objectives. Makes final recommendation on manufacturing operational matters and ensures manufacturing operations effective achievement of objectives. Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of the company. Participates in development of methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for projects, programs, and people. Ensures budgets and schedules meet corporate requirements.

Key Job Accountabilities:

• Evaluate and promote best practices and optimum utilization of resources; devise standard operating practices and develop plans for the efficient use of materials, machines, capital and employees; and drive improvements through the application of lean manufacturing practices and Kaizen activity.
• Responsible for overall site sector(s) manufacturing operations to include; supply chain, performance and capacity management.
• Provide the manufacturing site sectors operations leadership, resulting in the effective implementation of the required vision, strategy, quality, OTD, revenue, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
• Responsible for the management of level 1and level 2 metrics (as defined by SOP 14003) and daily management metrics.
• Develop, lead, and motivate the manufacturing operations team. This involves evaluating talent and strengthening the team as required, solidifying succession plans and improving leadership capability.
• Responsible to exemplify and hold their team accountable to demonstrating the Plexus Core Values. Leader will focus on evaluating potential, driving succession planning, and ensuring their employees receive the development and coaching required to realize their full potential.

Education/Experience Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree with 15 or more years of related experience is preferred. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience will be considered.

Other Qualifications:

• Ability to provide leadership, direction and guidance to members of the Manufacturing Operations team.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Good oral and written communication skills are necessary.
• Excellent organizational skills, leadership qualities, computer literacy, electronic industry knowledge and ability to supervise.
• Develop a passion for customer commitment by influencing members of Manufacturing Operations to effectively implement customer strategy.
• Proficiency and demonstration of the Plexus Core Values.
• General office equipment and materials.
