Job summary

Flextronics - The Flex Company is seeking a Purchasing Manager Direct in Malaysia to oversee direct materials procurement, parts, components, and equipment. Reporting to the Materials Manager, you will lead a team of buyers and expeditors, drive supplier performance, and ensure on-time delivery aligned with production schedules.

You will implement procurement strategies, manage supplier relationships, and optimize inventory and purchasing processes to meet cost and quality targets.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent plus extensive knowledge of purchasing policies and practices.
• Typically requires 6–8 years of related experience; Master’s degree preferred.
• Demonstrates advanced functional, technical and people management skills.
• Proven supplier relationship management and procurement leadership.
• Thorough understanding of Flex and related business practices.

Responsibilities

• Prepare purchasing system instructions and procedures.
• Set goals for the purchasing department and monitor performance.
• Lead a team of buyers and expeditors to meet procurement targets.
• Coordinate with supplier groups to update procurement strategies.
• Implement processes with suppliers to improve on-time delivery and price variance.
• Supervise supply chain to ensure continuous material availability for production.
