ASB Management Sdn Bhd is seeking a motivated student to join as a Digitalization Intern. You will support the CSS digitalization team with testing, documentation, and learning materials for Sawit360 and related modules, from a user perspective.
You will create user manuals, tutorials, and short videos, and assist with onboarding and knowledge transfer. This role emphasizes testing, content creation, and training support rather than coding, using tools like Jira, Word, PowerPoint, CapCut, and AI
We are inviting a motivated and enthusiastic student to join our organization as a Digitalization Intern. This internship offers hands‑on exposure, practical learning, and meaningful involvement in institutional and operational initiatives.
This role supports the CSS digitalization team in testing and documenting its digital platforms. The Digitalization Intern supports User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for the Sawit360 enhancement phases and the Traceability to Plantation (TTP) and Collection Center (CC) modernization, and prepares user‑facing documentation, tutorials, walkthroughs, and short videos for these releases.
This is a testing, content, and documentation role, not a technical build role. The Business Data Manager owns technical direction, and the core team remains focused on system refinement and backend validation; the Digitalization Intern tests each release from the user’s point of view and turns how the platform works into clear learning materials, so training, onboarding, and knowledge transfer continue without diverting the team from critical tasks. Working knowledge of testing, documentation, video, and AI tools is required.
Reports to the Business Data Manager. Works closely with the digitalization team and supports the five pillars with learning materials.
Execute UAT test cases and scenarios for the Sawit360 enhancement phases and the TTP and CC modernization; record results against expected outcomes.
Test the data flow from plantation and smallholder records through collection centers into Sawit360; confirm data is captured and carried over correctly.
Log defects and issues clearly in the agreed tracker, with steps to reproduce, screenshots, and severity.
Retest fixes delivered by the technical team and vendors; confirm closure before sign off.
Run regression checks on existing features after each release.
Support pillar users and collection center staff during UAT sessions; capture their feedback and raise unclear steps or gaps to the digitalization team.
Help prepare UAT test scripts, test data, and summary reports for the Business Data Manager.
Prepare step‑by‑step tutorials and walkthroughs for Sawit360, TTP, and CC modules for smallholders, field teams, collection center staff, and CSS staff.
Convert system processes into simple guides with screenshots, annotations, and examples.
Keep tutorials current as features change after each release or enhancement, including Phase II.
Prepare user manuals, process guides, quick reference sheets, and FAQs for Sawit360, TTP, CC, and other CSS digital tools.
Maintain one organized, version controlled library of all learning materials.
Support the digitalization team in formatting SOPs and other user‑facing documents.
Create short videos that showcase CSS digital platforms, new features, and updates.
Record screen walkthroughs and tutorial videos: scripting, voice over, editing, and captions.
Prepare subtitled versions in Bahasa Malaysia where needed for smallholders and field teams.
Support training sessions, onboarding, and knowledge transfer with ready‑to‑use materials.
Gather user feedback on guides and videos; improve them based on what users find difficult.
Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related IT field.
Coursework or projects in software testing, systems analysis, or technical documentation is an advantage.
Must provide official internship confirmation or supporting documents from the University
This role is testing and content focused rather than technical, but requires comfort with the following tools:
Testing: following test scripts, recording results, and logging defects in tools such as Jira, Excel, or Google Sheets.
Documentation: Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Google Docs for clean, well structured guides.
Video: CapCut, Camtasia, Adobe Premiere Pro, or similar for screen recording and editing.
Design: Canva, Figma, or similar for simple visuals, infographics, and annotated screenshots.
AI tools: Claude, Google Gemini, ChatGPT, or similar, used to work faster on drafting, translation, and scripting.
Good written communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia. Able to explain technical steps in simple language.
Strong eye for detail; careful and thorough when testing and checking results.
Organized and able to manage several pieces of content at once.
Quick to learn new software.
Committed to sustainability, smallholders, and work that makes a difference.
Basic awareness of oil palm sustainability frameworks (RSPO, MSPO, EUDR, NDPE).
Experience writing user manuals or how to guides for software.
Exposure to UAT, QA, or software testing in a project or internship.
The Center for Sustainable Small‑owners (CSS) at the Asia School of Business supports oil palm smallholders in Malaysia and the wider region to meet sustainability and certification requirements while improving productivity, market access, and long‑term resilience.
CSS operates through five pillars: Diffusion, Traceability and Verification, Certification and Compliance, Livelihood Improvement, and Research. Sawit360 Ecosystem, our digital platform, connects the smallholder ecosystem on one cloud system and underpins all five pillars.
