Job summary

Nufarm is seeking an experienced DevSecOps Lead to join the APAC IT team, based in Malaysia or Indonesia. The role leads the design, security, automation, and operational excellence of AWS-native integration and data platforms, driving secure-by-design pipelines and resilient cloud services.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with regional/global teams, and shape cloud security capabilities while implementing IAM controls, encryption, and threat-detection across the estate.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in IT with strong DevOps/DevSecOps background.
• Experience leading and mentoring engineers in cloud/platform environments.
• Hands-on AWS-native integration design and implementation.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and secure serverless integration solutions on AWS services.
• Implement fine-grained IAM access controls and security best practices.
• Secure data in transit and at rest using KMS/TLS.
• Strengthen APIs and integration services with authentication and rate limiting.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines with CodePipeline/CodeBuild.

• Establish observability and threat-detection across integration platforms.
• Lead incident response for integration, cloud, and data security events.

We're looking for an experienced DevSecOps Lead to join our APAC IT team based in Malaysia or Indonesia. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the design, security, automation, and operational excellence of Nufarm's AWS-native integration and data platforms. You'll play a critical role in building and securing modern cloud-native services, driving automation, embedding security into every stage of the software delivery lifecycle, and ensuring the resilience of our event-driven architecture and data ecosystem. Working closely with regional and global IT teams, you'll provide technical leadership across DevSecOps practices, mentor engineers, and help shape the future of Nufarm's cloud integration and security capabilities.

Key responsibilities

Design, build, and secure serverless integration solutions using AWS-native services including Apache Kafka, EventBridge, Step Functions, Lambda, SQS/SNS, API Gateway, and AppSync

Implement fine-grained access controls using IAM roles, policies, and security best practices

Secure data in transit and at rest using AWS Certificate Manager, TLS, and AWS KMS

Harden APIs and integration services through authentication, authorisation, rate limiting, and web application security controls

Build and maintain Git repository-driven CI/CD pipelines using AWS CodePipeline, CodeBuild, and related DevOps tooling

Embed security controls into software delivery pipelines to ensure secure-by-design deployment practices

Establish monitoring, observability, and threat-detection capabilities across integration platforms

Lead incident response activities relating to integration, cloud, and data security events

Design, optimise, and secure Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL and MySQL environments

Mentor and coach DevSecOps Engineers while building capability across the broader technology organisation

About you

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline

Minimum 10+ years' experience in IT, with significant experience across DevOps and DevSecOps disciplines

Proven experience leading, mentoring, and developing engineers within cloud and platform environments

Strong hands-on experience designing and implementing AWS-native integration solutions

Production experience with Apache Kafka, EventBridge, Step Functions, AWS Lambda, API Gateway, AppSync, SNS/SQS

Proven experience modernising integration landscapes and replacing third-party middleware with AWS-native services

Strong Infrastructure as Code (IaC) expertise using Terraform, AWS CDK, or similar technologies

Experience building and securing CI/CD pipelines using CodePipeline, Jenkins, GitLab, or equivalent tools

Minimum 3+ years of Amazon Aurora administration and optimisation experience

Strong knowledge of data encryption and key management, secure software development practices, SQL security and database protection, and cloud architecture and security principles
