Job summary

Nufarm Malaysia Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced DevSecOps Lead to join our APAC IT team, based in Malaysia or Indonesia, to lead the design, security, automation, and operational excellence of AWS-native integration and data platforms.

You will mentor engineers, drive secure-by-design delivery, and collaborate with regional and global teams to strengthen cloud integration, security capabilities, and observability across event-driven architectures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, or related discipline.
• 10+ years IT experience with DevOps/DevSecOps.
• Proven leadership and mentoring across cloud/platform environments.
• Hands-on AWS-native integration design experience.
• Experience with Kafka, EventBridge, Lambda, API Gateway, AppSync, SQS/SNS.
• IaC expertise using Terraform or AWS CDK.
• Experience building secure CI/CD pipelines with CodePipeline/Jenkins/GitLab.
• 3+ years of Aurora administration and optimization.
• Strong knowledge of data encryption, key management, and secure software development.

• Design, optimise, and secure Aurora PostgreSQL and MySQL environments.
• Mentor DevSecOps engineers and grow capability across the org.

Job description

We're looking for an experienced DevSecOps Lead to join our APAC IT team based in Malaysia or Indonesia. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the design, security, automation, and operational excellence of Nufarm's AWS-native integration and data platforms. You'll play a critical role in building and securing modern cloud-native services, driving automation, embedding security into every stage of the software delivery lifecycle, and ensuring the resilience of our event-driven architecture and data ecosystem. Working closely with regional and global IT teams, you'll provide technical leadership across DevSecOps practices, mentor engineers, and help shape the future of Nufarm's cloud integration and security capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and secure serverless integration solutions using AWS-native services including Apache Kafka, EventBridge, Step Functions, Lambda, SQS/SNS, API Gateway, and AppSync
• Implement fine-grained access controls using IAM roles, policies, and security best practices
• Secure data in transit and at rest using AWS Certificate Manager, TLS, and AWS KMS
• Harden APIs and integration services through authentication, authorisation, rate limiting, and web application security controls
• Build and maintain Git repository-driven CI/CD pipelines using AWS CodePipeline, CodeBuild, and related DevOps tooling
• Embed security controls into software delivery pipelines to ensure secure-by-design deployment practices
• Establish monitoring, observability, and threat-detection capabilities across integration platforms
• Lead incident response activities relating to integration, cloud, and data security events
• Design, optimise, and secure Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL and MySQL environments
• Mentor and coach DevSecOps Engineers while building capability across the broader technology organisation

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline
• Minimum 10+ years' experience in IT, with significant experience across DevOps and DevSecOps disciplines
• Proven experience leading, mentoring, and developing engineers within cloud and platform environments
• Strong hands-on experience designing and implementing AWS-native integration solutions
• Production experience with Apache Kafka, EventBridge, Step Functions, AWS Lambda, API Gateway, AppSync, SNS/SQS
• Proven experience modernising integration landscapes and replacing third-party middleware with AWS-native services
• Strong Infrastructure as Code (IaC) expertise using Terraform, AWS CDK, or similar technologies
• Experience building and securing CI/CD pipelines using CodePipeline, Jenkins, GitLab, or equivalent tools
• Minimum 3+ years of Amazon Aurora administration and optimisation experience
• Strong knowledge of data encryption and key management, secure software development practices, SQL security and database protection, and cloud architecture and security principles
