Job summary

Bybit is seeking a seasoned DevOps/SRE leader to drive our Kuala Lumpur engineering platform and align it with business objectives. You will define strategy, implement scalable CI/CD pipelines, and foster collaboration across development, QA, and operations.

Lead a 30+ person DevOps/SRE team, mentor career growth, and push multi-cloud/hybrid deployments with IaC to improve deployment frequency, reliability, and security—shaping the future of Bybit’s platform.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of engineering experience in the internet/tech industry with 5+ years in DevOps/SRE/platform engineering.
• Proven experience delivering high-concurrency, high-availability production systems (10M+ daily requests) in ecommerce/fintech/gaming/healthcare preferred.
• Experience leading a DevOps/SRE team of 30+; bonus for building a team from scratch or significantly improving effectiveness.
• Proficiency in container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) with production-grade planning, capacity management, and incident handling.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, ArgoCD) and IaC tools (Terraform, Helm, Ansible).
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (Go/Python/Java) for automation and platform components.

Responsibilities

• Define the company's DevOps and platform engineering strategy and report to CTO/leadership.
• Build and improve the engineering effectiveness measurement framework (DORA metrics).
• Champion engineering culture transformation and cross-team collaboration across development, QA, and operations.
• Lead the development of an Internal Developer Platform (IDP) to reduce cognitive load for engineers.
• Build and evolve end-to-end CI/CD pipelines for high-frequency, high-quality releases.
• Drive adoption of IaC enabling versioned, auditable infrastructure management.

Core Responsibilities

• Define the company's DevOps and platform engineering strategy, align it with business objectives, and report effectiveness metrics to the CTO and engineering leadership
• Build and continuously improve the engineering effectiveness measurement framework ( DORA Metrics: deployment frequency, change failure rate, MTTR, lead time for changes), driving quantifiable improvements
• Champion engineering culture transformation, fostering genuine collaboration across development, QA , and operations — breaking down process silos rather than reinforcing them
• Lead the development of an Internal Developer Platform (IDP) to reduce cognitive load for engineers and improve the overall developer experience (DevEx)
• Build and continuously evolve end-to-end CI/CD pipelines to support high-frequency, high-quality production releases
• Drive full adoption of Infrastructure as Code (IaC), enabling versioned, auditable, and repeatable infrastructure management

Reliability & Security

• Establish an SLO/ SLA framework and champion a Blameless Postmortem culture
• Shift security left (DevSecOps) by embedding security scanning and compliance checks directly into the delivery pipeline
• Architect multi-cloud/hybrid cloud strategies, making informed trade-offs between cost, elasticity, and stability

Team Building

• Recruit, develop, and motivate the DevOps/SRE team, establishing clear technical career growth paths
• Make sound technical trade-off decisions under resource constraints, and clearly communicate the business value of technical investments to non-technical stakeholders

Requirements

Must‑Have

• 10+ years of engineering experience in the internet/tech industry, with 5+ years of hands‑on DevOps/SRE/platform engineering experience
• Proven experience building high‑concurrency, high‑availability production systems (10M+ daily requests or equivalent complexity); experience in e‑commerce, fintech, gaming, or healthcare is preferred
• Experience leading a DevOps/SRE team of 30+; bonus for candidates who have built a team from scratch or significantly elevated team effectiveness
• Proficiency in container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) with production‑grade cluster planning, capacity management, and incident handling experience
• Hands‑on experience with mainstream CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, ArgoCD, etc.) and IaC tools (Terraform, Helm, Ansible, etc.)
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (Go / Python / Java), with the ability to independently build automation tools and platform components

Nice to Have

• Experience building an Internal Developer Platform (IDP) or engineering effectiveness platform from the ground up
• Familiarity with AIOps / LLM applications in operations (intelligent alerting, root cause analysis, auto-remediation)
• Hands‑on experience with multi-cloud architecture design and cost optimization (AWS / Alibaba Cloud / Tencent Cloud / Azure)
• Familiarity with FinOps, with the ability to incorporate cloud cost into engineering effectiveness metrics

• Able to drive change in ambiguous environments; strong sense of ownership — you don't wait for perfect conditions to act
• Data‑driven communicator who can clearly present the business value of engineering improvements to the CTO and business stakeholders
• Sound technical judgment — able to make reasonable trade‑offs across multiple solutions rather than pursuing technical perfectionism
