Job summary

Grab is seeking a hands-on DevOps Engineer for its DevTools team in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. You will write code, build platform systems, and automate infrastructure at scale.

The role involves owning APIs, scripts, and developer tooling while collaborating with security and infra teams to deliver reliable platform solutions. You will report to the Engineering Manager and work onsite, contributing to production code and building maintainable systems with AI-enabled workflows.

Qualifications

• Strong coding ability in Python, Go, and shell scripting.
• Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
• Strong Unix/Linux, scripting, troubleshooting, and systems fundamentals.
• Experience with infrastructure automation and CI/CD tools (Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins).
• Ability to build maintainable systems and follow good engineering practices.
• Willingness to learn and use AI tools and automation.

About the Team

Join the DevTools team at Grab, where we build cloud engineering platforms, developer tools, automation systems, and AI-enabled engineering workflows that help teams operate effectively, securely, and at scale.

Our mission is to improve developer productivity and platform reliability through well designed tooling, automation, and platform services, allowing our builder teams to move faster while operating securely and at scale.

Role Overview

We are looking for a hands‑on DevOps Engineer who can write code, build platform systems, and automate infrastructure at scale.

You will report to the Engineering Manager and work onsite in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. This role is suited for someone with strong cloud engineering fundamentals, infrastructure automation experience, and the ability to build reliable internal platforms, integrations, APIs, scripts, and developer tooling.

This is not only an operations role. We are looking for someone who can contribute to production code, build maintainable systems, and solve platform engineering problems end to end.

Essential Skills

• Strong coding ability in Python, Go, shell scripting, or similar languages.
• Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
• Strong Unix/Linux, scripting, troubleshooting, and systems fundamentals.
• Experience with infrastructure automation, CI/CD, Terraform, Ansible, or similar tools.
• Ability to build maintainable systems and follow good engineering practices.
• Openness to learning and using AI tools and automation.

Nice to Have

• Experience building developer platforms or internal tooling.
• Experience operating DevOps platforms at scale.
• Exposure to SRE, observability, DevSecOps, or vendor integrations.
